i dont think alonso hasnt improved since he arrived here 2 + years ago

in many ways he has gone backwards (take away his wonder goal this season and he has been poor, never dominating a match like a great midfielder should) and i feel at times he ducks out of getting stuck in and battling when we need to battle (away from home)

i would sell him to real or barcelona for 20 million then bring in

joey barton - to replace hamann

kevin nolan

guys who will give 100% every game

To get rid of Xabi would be silly. For me he's the type of player who will go out and battle all 90 minutes, and right when you need it, pop in a cracker. (Has he ever scored a :censored: goal lol) He can run with the ball and pass like no other. He's the type of player who likes to press forward on runs (and in most cases creates runs) He's proven that he can hold his own in strong tackles recently aswell. He isnt getting on the score sheet much recently but he is as vital as ever in our midfield. So in my opinion selling him or benching him all the time would be daft.

I can't believe i've just read that, drop Alonso...? what the...? honestly, thats like saying  we might as well play a game with no defence and no goal keeper - what would be the point? So what if he's had a few quiet games, there's no need to go over the top and consider dropping him!

Would you drop Gerrard? NO.

Alonso's passes are amazing, and he's always there when you need him. Maybe him and Gerrard forming a center midfield partnership is what the team needs, but its up to Rafa to decide. Can you doubt his free kicks? Alonso only should be dripped when hes injured

in my opinion, your mouth doesn't battle enough to combat your backside talking.
