the premier league is having a change from next season. with a whole new look to the shirt numbering/badges and player names...

PREMIER LEAGUE REBRAND

Liverpool's players will kick-off the next Premiership season with new style letters, numbers and sleeve badges on their shirts after the FA Premier League announced a rebranding of the current designs.
In a statement released to liverpoolfc.tv today, the FA Premier League stated: "From the start of the 2007/08 season, The F.A. Premier League is introducing a new design for the official letters, numbers and sleeve badges that will be printed on player kits and also produced for replica sale.

"The planned modernisation of the current designs, originally launched a decade ago, aims to further enhance the Barclays Premiership’s professional image, improve player identification and continue to protect against counterfeiting.

"New letters, names and sleeve badges will be available from official licensees for sale in club shops and other authorised retailers prior to the start of the 2007/08 season."
**********************************************

id like to see the 'characters' used on the current Champions league shirts brought into the Premiership. they just look right.

"The planned modernisation of the current designs, originally launched a decade ago, aims to further enhance the Barclays Premiership’s professional image, improve player identification and continue to protect against counterfeiting"    :glare:        yeah right! along with raking in millions of pounds in extra revenue from the continued exploitation of the supporters you mean.

you aint wrong there! Dont see why the premier league have to impose there numbers on shirts other than make money for themselves, and wait and see next season youl have kids asking there parents for the new numbering on a shirt they already have.... I prefer the adidas numbering too, hope we get to wear those type of numbers next year in the Champs League.....so the players better get there act together fairly quick

The current font style the Prem use is :censored:.

Doesn't look athletic at all.

Manhattan wants something old skool.

Boring, official rebranding is just a waste of time and money used by big-wigs to rake in a few extra pennys by introducing a "New Look". If you change the colour on a can of beans, it's still a can of beans and smells like someones worked a whole bucket out of their system. Who cares what the names and numbers look like, because the team and the players are still the same.
