Zenden is falling far too rapidly into the convenient scapegoat category, for my tastes.  Certainly he is a limited player in a number of key regards but he is also a model professional: he's versatile, he's level-headed, he works hard for the team and he doesn't mind spending a good deal of time on the bench when our "best 11" are fit and firing on all cylinders.  While many of us would no doubt prefer to see Stevie in the middle of the park and other options used wide left ahead of Bolo, he's still managed to "do a job" when called upon by Rafa this season.  Perpetually slating Zenden may feel like a fun bandwagon to jump aboard but the reality is he is not the exclusive source of the team's current malaise and the amount of stick he's getting is out of all proportion given the service he has provided to this club.  Let's give the lad a break, hmmm? ???

I agree, LFCs problems arent because of Zenden, its a little bit more than that,....

I'm in full agreement with andypool....you can't put the full blame on the Rice Crispies, shredded Wheat has to shoulder some of the problems we are experiencing with our defensive frailties.

Its well known that Bellamy is back on the sugar puffs, if he would just stick to corn flakes like Sammi our problems would be behind us now!

I'd be grateful if you didn't post your fetish's on the board.  :p
Zenden is being used as a scapegoat, it's not on and if anyone has noticed Zenden has been one of the few hard working players this season.

the logic was justified when you consider the even worse state of affairs that could have come about, had Pennant started the game up against the likes of Clichy, van persie and a marauding Henry who, as we know likes to drift out left - Gerrard was the only viable solution to going someway towards nullifying that. as it turned out neither was the case.
and when you then consider who is actually available for selection in central midfield...im not sure there was much of an alternative open to exploring at all.

Maybe Zenden shouldnt be in the starting 11, but hes not the worst player we could still have Diao in our ranks !

Diao's big problem was not letting go of his Shreddies, after producing so much sh.it
