I gathered by the title of the topic.  :D

You maybe correct about Riise and others, but I feel at the moment everyone should get behind the players more and then see who comes in January or the next summer transfer window. That's all! As I say Riise is hit and miss at times he shows some brilliance in others he is shocking.

Now then folks its been a while since i started this deabte but surely now you have got off seen what i spotted along time ago.   Riise is most defenitly the weakest link.   Today he nealry cost us two goals both there chances where because off Riise.  I cant wait for the day we have a better left back who plays every week.   Maybe Lucas Neil will be played there if we sign him in January.

Have you noticed Riise as the weakest link?

I think his best position is Left Midfield - he's so much better going forward.

He was poor against Fulham but didn't see the game today

Matt McQueen - Liverpool 1892-1928.
Only professional to - play in goal (41 appearances), Defence, Midfield, Striker, and later be Director and then to be Manager (winning a Championship) - at one club

OK, out of all the left sided defenders we have i feel Riise is up there. I don't rate the brazilian idiot, as i feel he is just a long ball player who don't look for a red shirt. I rate Warnock, however he is unlucky with injures. As CardinalRed said, he has been one of the most consititant player for the past 5 years, and scored some cruical goals for us, and of course he make it in the 100 PWSTK (and also the top 50 forgien players who have graced the prem, voted by the public on sky1!)

The question is though, what is Riise's best position? defence or midfield? As he is the only fit, or has been, the only fit defender well its obvious that he's going to play there. The brazilian idiot that we have signed has probably shown that he should only play on the left of midfield, however speedy (MG) will play there most weeks or Luis.

So lets face it, he's going to be in the team, as he is the only fit left sided defender at the moment, and when the others are fit Rafa clearly feels that the others are not pushing enough to rock him out of that position!

*Hail Rafa - Long May He Continue!!*

Question - how can you start a topic? do you have to have posted a certain number of posts before you can submit a brand new topic? Also how do u add pictures to signatures?

The fella's given five years great service to the club . Few fans ever thought of him as the best LB around , most it seems prefer him playing at left mid .

He certainly didn't have one of his better games today but I'm not gonna jump on the fella , for me he's still worth a place at LFC, I will however acknowledge Murph that we could do better in the LB position .

While I am quite willing to agree that Riise isn't the greatest left back Liverpool have ever had, I still think hes the best we have at the moment. He always gives everything hes got , he never lets his head drop, and tries his best. As long as he continues to run himself into the ground week after week he will have my continued support. He is always willing to gamble and go forward in support of our attack, knowing that if we lose possession he will have to race back 60 yards to his position. Yes he gets caught out occasionally but he also works damned hard to ensure it doesn't happen too often.

He had a bad game yesterday and was poor against Fulham(maybe he needs a rest) but I think he's done OK for most of this season ,when other more talented players have struggled or given up.

did he give it away? i read somewhere that it was only a joke, not the smartest of moves by him but no harm done if it was a joke. Hes been a great servant to the club and scored some absolute crackers but i understand what murphs saying about his vulnerability at the back but then again hes improved loads in that position in the last year or so. There is better out there but currently i think he is our best left back.

Theres no debate.

He's a good player and anyone who thinks otherwise is a complete and utter muppet.
