does anyone else watch this irritating pile of trash. recently ive been promoted to the dubious honour of calling myself an 'insomniac' partly due to my missus being 5 months gone and totally incontinent of a night... :no

anyway, i was flicking through the channels last night and stumbled upon this errr...show. think its on ch. 209 or something.

anyway for those who dont know, its basically a moneymaking scam of a programme where, youve next to no chance of winning due to the inanely worded questions..

for example: last night there was one on where the following short sum had to be solved.

"eighty six - 6 +
five +10
x 2 = ? "

written out exactly in that way on the screen: the question/puzzle was written......"add the numbers"

the presenters dragged this one on for nigh on two hours..offering bonus £1k etc along the way. well no f**ker ended up winning the prize, basically because of the ambiguity of the kind of 'conundrums' they ask. wtf!! i sat through this sh1t. made myself even more wide awake getting wound up contemplating the answer...and ended up chucking the TV remote against my innocent Xbox hiding under the telly :down:

it still works tho.

the point is... WTF IS THE ANSWER ANYONE!!!!! :wwww

and before you ask it isnt one of the following: 190 101 32 282 107 21 952....etc its doing my head in.. particularly as the dishes are riding on this one - help!

oh btw why do NTL customers get discriminated against with all these phone- ins? (probably a good thing tho tbh)

it has something to do with roman numerals. we all watch it round mine after the pub... really does my head in... but the birds on it are alright... one of them is some mad british horror actress emily booth whos pretty fine

well of common sense i think it is 180,that by doing the sum,i also got 12 from adding the numbers only(NOT THE WORDS)

i was watcing that one night aswell ,and its a big scam i think because even if you dont get through the take the 1$ of u still and if u get through they dont let u win even though it is the right number

They usually give the answer out about 2 weeks later. I think its because the answers dont seem to have any connection or relevance to the questions, and people might get upset if they gave them out straght away.

the answer is 105

86 - 6 is 80
80 + 5 = 85
10 x 2 = 20
85 + 20 = 105

or eighty six is the question number and the sum is just
6+5+10x2=42

The answer will have no connection with the sum(from the answers I have seen) it will be something like 1015 with no explanation as to how they arrive at the answer.

Saw one of these a while ago where there was a face hidden by a few blocks and you had to guess the celebrity. It was ferkin obvious it was george clooney but every time someone rang up and gave the answer as clooney they were told it was wrong. About 2 hours later it was still going on and that was about the time i wazzed the control against the telly also.
Just legalised scams. But as long as they keep getting muppets ringing up they will continue.

actually i just worked it out, the clue says 'add the numbers', the numbers are 86,6,5,10 and 2, so 86+6+5+10+2=109

The one I saw had a picture of £1 coin, a picture of 5 x10p, 2 x 50p and a few 2p coins. Asked how much money was there.

Answer should in my opinion have been £2.50p + however many 2p's were there (approx 6)

Answer given was £7.72 with no explanation.

I'm not sure of the exact figures now but you get the gist.

there was another one on last night (its ok im not hooked or anything

) where you had to name 10 famous actors. all the correct answers offered different prizes: £50 for a well known actor...£100 for a slightly less famous one etc etc...

well, now and again they throw in a 'clue' for one of the answers (although at the time you presume the clue relates to ALL of the answers)..not exactly clear until a caller questioned the presenter about it..."err that clue was meant for one of the possible 10)

ok, so the time ticks by.....one or two guess correctly.... :sleep

again, nearly 2 hrs in.. and ping!!! another clue question..."one of the actors is in harry potter" woooohoooo.....im going.. 'Robbie coltrane?..'richard harris?...no?

ok he says...heres another clue...the name is "r....grint" ron weasleys character. (how f**kin bizarre) now, they are practically giving you the answer...for 50 sheets!! .....no one calls. next-the presenter really throws the towel in when he goes..."think of a bear... R something "the" bear..hes at it.
well STILL no f**ker can solve it..wtf!!!

eventually someone rings in with "rupert grint" and waltzes off with a nights ale money. but, how on earth can it be so cr@p!! that one minute they are changing the rules with each correct (claimed incorrect) answer..to the next, when they are practically telling you the names of some answers?

ill have to start going out of a night more
