mate, I know these are jokes, but some of them are really out of order! I have a sense of humor and I joke sometimes about my own religion, but then posting pictures and calling these women "Ninjas" doesn't show any respect to the arab or muslim culture. These women wear a viel for a reason, one of the reason is to show self-respect to other muslim families. This Viel is part of who we are and its part of our tradition. To be honest with you, my mother doesn't wear a viel or a black robe, even my grandmother or my aunts, because its our choice and these people's choice is to wear these robes. I used to call them Ninjas myself a couple of years back, but one day my mum explained to me that calling them names shows very little respect to traditions.

Peewee, I know your just joking around and by the way that picture of the family was taken in our own city of Beirut, in downtown beirut ofcourse! i recognized the building!

i will never fall out with you metalhead mate, but a joke is a joke, also there seems to be a major misunderstanding that i should show respect to any religion. i dont even respect my own religion mate so i sure as hell will not respect yours.

i know muslims who also call them ninjas and ragheads so why should i show caution when even muslims dont.

if i wanted to be offensive mate it would be a lot stronger than making a joke, you need to understand that.

anyway we are all friends on here, i have no wish to be offensive but you shouldnt take that as being offensive mate.

Mate, I really don't mind the jokes, like Barry Belfast's joke, its funny i laughed! There are some jokes about muslims that i found it funny, but then the "Ninja" part, don't take it personally, but I find it really offensive. Thats the only part that I have to jump in and defend it! Like I told you I used to call them "Ninjas" before but then I learned why I should respect women who wear these black robes and viel, you have to understand that. This is the only part that I'm quite offended about, i should have been more specific.

Metalhead

Please try to understand that the British humour is generally dark and sick, we are used to it and grow up with it, Pee Wee means no offence and Woof neither, you can tell that by their posts but given a chance to laugh at things we do and we will carry on (scuse the pun) doing that and I hope it never changes.

If we were on a Muslim site or country then its a different matter but this is the norm in Britain and it aint a Muslim thing (though that is happening at the moment) its just a take the mick out of anything and anybody thing.
