I think that everyone a moment is failing to see bigger picture with rotation policy, ok yes we have lost some valuable points this season, but over 2-3 seasons for us to have a larger squad thats capable of interchanging when necesary. I still feel that we are likely to have bloops this season in much the same way that man united were having blips last season a lot due to new players being slowly brought into squad and new tactics and formations. I think that some of our key players have underperformed this year too, and nothing can account for that, it just happens. Chelsea have had a pretty poor start to the season in honesty, but have still won when it counts, because they have a quality squad in depth, and have managed to have one or two players that have grabbed game by scruff of neck by bit of luck (frank cant shoot straight lampard) or individual brilliance (drogba) we have so far lacked both the luck and individual brilliance from key players who have been off form. This again tho reiterates the need for a good squad so when players are off form, we can bring ppl in to try change things. Over a season chelsea are less likely to drop points because of their depth, but man united are probably due dip in form as are arsenal who seem bit like us at moment with a season or two of transition.
Im not saying rafa hasnt made mistakes, or that the rotation hasnt affected results, but i think long term the benefits may outweigh the short term negatives. I also think that some of the criticism of players that are recently integrated into the squad is a little strong, ok they havent all hit the ground running, but how many players do??? I think we need to judge them over course of the season and the next too before getting on their backs. Pennant has become the new hatred figure amongst some fans, alltho he has played very little time so far, and has had both mix of good moments and bad, but is still young and learning, as well as adjusting to new team, life, tactics etc. The same applies to kuyt, gonzalez, aurelio. I think another thing people seem to forget is that he is doing things on a relative shoestring budget.Ronaldo at united=13 million, gonzalez=4 mil, rooney=28 mil, kuyt=10, aurelio=free, zenden was free, pennant=7 mil, bellamy=6.7 mil, so if a few are little rough around edges and need work on them, i think we should expect it, theres normally a reason why players cost twice as much, because they are generally more accomplished in their development stage.Ok zenden should probably shown the door lol, but he was free and was brought in to cover when necessary, hes not good enough, we all can see that, but point is Rafa needed a player and didnt have money to spend on one and saw one that could do a job if absolutely necessary.
i guess ultimately im askin that we try see bigger picture and that may take time to achieve, we were last season a team in progress and are so this season. Rafa spent close to 30 mil this summer, man u spent that on one player, as did chelsea, lets face it we are always going to be playing catch up, and IF rafa pulls it off it'll be a bloomin miracle, but its one i think given time and patience he can achieve, we just really need to understand the huge task that is ahead of us.
