Does cisse deserve another chance?

Liverpool Football Club - General Discussion

Cisse wasn't given a huge amount of opportunity but I do agree with others in this forum that I would have Cisse over Kuyt or Bellamy at the moment.  We have gone backwards from last season and at least Cisse/Morientes were big names that provided goals

You must not have followed Liverpool last season. Having Cisse and Morientes up front is like having erectile dysfuntion. No matter what your never going to score.

Bellamy and Kuyt have been at Liverpool a total of 4 months. Give them time. They are infinately better than Cisse and Morientes.

Seems like whenever someone mentions Cisse some dipsh*t shows up and thinks he is the next Pele. Probably the worst player in recent years to put on the Liverpool shirt regularly (Josemi, Nunez excluded).

This is ridiculous.  The worst thing about a bad start is the idiotic comments you have to read

cisse is not coming back-- has lashed out at rafa in several interviews after his move and its plainly obvious that rafa does not see much in cisse. cisse is a player of the french league standard, looks good amoung average but with class looks out of depth, and rafa is clearly not the one who can get the best out of him. it may turn out that cisse becomes the new henry or best striker but its not and wont happen here at liverpool. a for bellamy give the lad a chance. as for mori just not a player who suited the english game, but is a player who is all class, as you can now see with him back in spain. and to all those that talk about the abundant goal scoring of cisse/morri last season obviously have a short memory and where probably on these boards last season complaining about our strikers and calling for their heads.

Had we have signed Jamie Carragher in the summer for say 10 million quid, those same people would now be saying "what a load of sh!te" based on what they have seen so far. Because though we have seen him play well in a red shirt before, it's cool. Well, we have seen Bellamy and Pennant play well before in blue shirts so that's cool by me too. If we were playing well and they were sh!te (which Cisse was last season) then it would be a problem. Alas, we aren't and it isn't.

I’m fine with Bellamy, value for money and adds plenty to the first team. But Pennant was a poor signing in my opinion, I’m not judging him on the short period I have seen him here but his career so far and his ability, I just don’t think he has the ability to improve on what he is, which is a mid table player.

Couldn't agree more, looks out of his depth, the people who know their stuff realise he'll never be good enough for a title challenging side. Won't be here too long to be honest, Rafa will soon realise.

Agreed

I walked away from Anfield enough times, shaking my head in dispair after watching another no show from Cisse,

I for one never want to see him in a red shirt again, Bellamy is a proven player who will come good, his effort is second to none and ive know doubt he will be a great asset to us.

ps;

I think theres a clause in the loan & buy deal that they cant send him back if he makes a full recovery, nor can we recall him.

I hope so anyway!

Our current strikers > Cisse

Kuyt's a hard worker and is already bagging some nice goals.

Bellamy's a proven goalscorer and has been very dangerous this season.  He'll get his goals.

Crouch also finds ways to score whenever he plays.  He's been great for us.

And Fowler's an absolute legend.  He's still got skills and his performance against Reading shows what he's still capable of.

All four of our strikers work hard and take advantage of their opportunities to play.  They've all put in their efforts and has done what Rafa wants them to do (start, bench, whatever the case).  They are also intelligent strikers.

The same could not be said for Cisse.
You'll Never Walk Alone

You would have him over kuyt. 3 goals already for kuyt in how many games has he played and started. seriously mate re think that ridiculous statement. Also in morientes first seaon with us he scored 3 goals. In his second only 5.

gsker1, get a grip son!

Kuyt guarantees goals in my opinion, and not only that, he's a very intelligent player. To say the name Cisse in the same sentence is an insult.

LOL. Definitely. Sissy = kuyt? more like Sissy < Kuyt. It's an insult, alright. I think we had a better chance of scoring , link up play with the slowest striker in premiership on motorbike than Cisse.
