FOWLER CAPTAINS REDS FOR FIRST TIME SINCE 2001

Robbie Fowler will complete a remarkable turnaround in fortunes tonight when he not only starts in attack for Liverpool but actually captains the side for the first time since 2001.
Rafael Benitez has handed a first-team debut to Argentinian defender Gabriel Paletta tonight at Anfield as a mixture of youth and experience take on Reading in the Carling Cup.

Liverpool line-up as follows:

                   Reina

Peltier    Agger    Paletta   Warnock

Pennant Zenden  Sissoko    Riise

            Fowler   Crouch

Subs:

Martin
Kuyt
Carragher
Guthrie
Smith

No extra time,  I say we will beat them 3 nil.  Fowler, JAR and Crouch to score.

Come on LFC.

Looking at it, its quite a strong team, compared to what we could have put out.

zenden may be cr@p but he has played a bit of first team action this season.

and peltier is the only other name in the 11 that you wouldnt find in any given starting line up in the prem.

Subs wise, i expect to see kuyt on for fowler at some point, as robbie may not make a full 90mins having just come back from injury. And I'd quite like to see Guthrie on for zendon too in the second half

I would have liked to have seen Sammi at the back babysitting but it looks a strong team anyway.
