A CROWD of angry protesters, including around 30 veiled Muslim women, yesterday jeered embattled Labour MP Jack Straw.

Some of the women among 70 demonstrators held up banners outside his constituency surgery calling for him to be arrested for inciting religious hatred and demanded he be sacked as Leader of the House of Commons. They chanted: "The veil is our choice and our liberation. The veil is our freedom."

They were outraged at his plea for women to remove veils at his surgeries.

A larger protest outside the community centre in Blackburn, Lancs, was cancelled on police advice because up to 8,000 people were expected.

Tasaddiq Rehman, from Blackburn Muslim Council, said: "He didn't start a debate. He declared war against the Muslim community. Jack Straw's a Christian fascist."

Earlier in the demo Saira Khan, a contestant on The Apprentice, incited the crowd after questioning why Muslim women wore the veil.

Blackburn MP Mr Straw said he would not apologise.

i find this astounding, just read tis part again:

the guy made a comment that a lot of muslims agree with and he is abused and accused of declaring war, and called a christian facist. i wonder how far a white english christian would get if he uttered the words "muslim terrorists".

its really starting to p1ss me off now and i dont even live there anymore. i know for a fact that if i started such things out here i would just be told if i dont like thailand then i can happily funk off somewhere else.

this just goes to show how how uneducated and happy to cause problems some of these feckers are. the sooner its clamped down on and they are told in no uncertain term to wind their necks in it will only get worse. i am not surprised at the british national party winning seats in local elections.

its not muslim bashing mate, it is relevant to whats happening in the UK, it should open your eyes to why there is some hostilty to your religion

as for the veil-wearers of blackburn i find it quite funny how the local spokesman can call jack straw a "christian fascist" when he is, in fact, jewish

mind you have you seen the women of blackburn? if i was prme minister they'd ALL have to wear veils, muslim or not :wwww
