Bellamy is a striker not a winger, we played the same mistake with Cisse last year, lets not paly the same mistake with bellamy and actually play him in position.

Cisse played better in that wide striker role then he did anywhere else for Liverpool......

No mate nothing to do with what you said, what I meant was we have been crying out for pacy wingers, we have them now but neither of them play at the same time.
Instead Rafa uses Gerrard and Bellamy in their positions its so annoying.

Ciggy i understand your concern, but Rafa still doesn't see Gonzalez ready to play yet and need to adapt to the premiership thats why he uses Gerrard on the left. I think using Bellamy on the left is a waste of time because he was brought in as a striker and need to be used as a striker, plus if we do play him on the left I think we will get a new Cisse situation (Bellamy did alot of problems in Newcastle when he was played on the right).

Bellamy is a player who likes to get behind the back four, and often bends his runs which causes him to go wide on occasions - his runs are very similar to those that Shearer used to make when in his prime - maybe he picked up something from him even though they hated each other. On both flanks this is very useful, especially if the full backs or wingers get up on the overlap.

I can see the logic in this when Stevie is playing in the centre and bombing into the box behing Kuyt or Crouch.

But as far as playing Bellamy on the wing full time - forget it.

Agreed. You wouldn't ask Crouch to play on the wing, so don't bother asking Bellamy to do it. Very unfair.

Think alot of people have missed the point here, no one is asking or forcing Bellamy to play on the wing, no one needs to because he more than often goes out there himself. How often is he to be found out wide waiting for a pass from either Gerrard or Alonso that he can run onto. How often have we seen him go down the touchline trying to get behind the defenders and deliver a cross.? That for me is the job of a winger, Bellamy seems to do this job quite often and of his own free will.
I still would prefer to see Bellamy working the left wing than Gerrard.

LIVERPOOL, England Oct 13 (Reuters) - Coach Rafael Benitez thinks Craig Bellamy will continute to play for Liverpool during his court case next month.

The Welsh international has Nov. 23 court appearance in relation to an assault charge.

The trial is set for five days and Liverpool have three matches in a period of seven days around that time.

They play PSV Eindhoven in the Champions League on Nov. 22 before facing Manchester City three days later and Portsmouth on Nov. 29. All three games are at Anfield.

"I think he can handle these pressures and play for us. You must consider the mentality of the player and he will be okay," Benitez told a news conference on Friday.

"If he wants to play then I have no problem. The important thing is all three games are at home and that should make it easier for him.

"We will have to wait and see but if he is positive and strong in his character I don't see a problem with it."

Bellamy, 27, has denied assaulting two women at a Cardiff nightclub in February. He was due in court to answer the case earlier this month but the case was postponed. He went on to play for Wales twice, captaining his country both times.

Benitez added: "He had a similar problem in Cardiff this week when the case was held up but still managed to captain his country and score.

"He handled that well. It shows how positive he is and he always wants to play football."

Bellamy could take inspiration from his former Newcastle United team mate Lee Bowyer. In 2000/2001, when at Leeds United, Bowyer produced some of the best football of his career while on trial during an assault case and won the club's player of the year award.

I just hope he doesnt let it affect him and gets on with his football. I read somewhere that the original trial was postponed because fresh evidence was introduced against him. Surely a few quid could sort this out once and for all.

On a side note I see Anton Ferdinand has been arrested for assault, just a pity it wasnt his elder brother!

Why didnt she just sleep with him and then sell her story to the tabloids. Thats what they usually do. Mind you it is Craig "no neck " Bellamy
