I always thought you where a bit stupid, but this confirms that you know zip, zilch, nil nada, nothing.

Gerrard was our best signing ever and Rafa signed him ! ! !

So quick to pull the trigger and have a go, so simple to read a post, Leon, have a look mate,  :no you're very dissapointing!

I am sorry but you cant possibly be trying to say that you meant resigned as he never left you idiot.

Admit your clueless and move on.

How can resigning Gerrard be someones best signing when he never left in the first place ?

So your saying if Rafa didn't sign him, he'd still be playing here without a contract??

HE WOULD HAVE LEFT IF WE DIDN'T SIGN HIM

Mate, you have a problem! And judging by your first response, you obviously have some sort of simmering hatred towards me, because you haven't responded to me in over a year. In other words, if you don't like what I post, don't read it. And if you do read them, don't be so condescending or retort with a childish insult. Otherwise,  :talktothehand

Some people on here in the past have asked me why I used to critcise Ged non-stop but can't stand anyone criticizing Rafa. Well the short answer to that, apart from the fact that Rafa seems to learn from his mistakes, while Ged never, is that Rafa is in demand. He is the first manager we have had since Dalglish that is in demand and could leave for a better or similar job. There was never any danger of that happening to Souey, Royston or Ged. That's why we need to be careful of how Rafa sees us and our attitude towards him.

Some of Gerard's buy weren't 1st team players (Kippe and Ferri) but all most all of Rafa's are and Rafa's have been worse.

Good buys:
Alonso--world class can't say more
Momo--learns to pass a ball will be a legend at LFC
Crouch--does a good enough job and has been boss this season
Agger--outstanding

Average buys:
Kuyt--not seen enough of him yet
Reina--superb last year, dreadful this time round
Bellamy--same as Kuyt, not impressed so far
Gonzalez--looks lively when played
Garcia--give and take with him. Good one game poor for the next four
Carson--good buy for the future
Fowler--hasn't played enough under Rafa but when he has, has played well

Bad buys:
Morientes--useless
Josemi--what was the point?
Nunez--didn't do a thing right
Pennant--thinks he is world class (and isn't) just because he plays for Liverpool
Aurellio--the odd free kick to hit the target isn't good enough
Barragan--we'vesold him with the option of bringing him back. Why?
Zenden--an abosoloute joke
Kromkamp--another right back who isn't good enough

So despite Gerard making bad buys I believe his good buys outweigh Rafa's buy a country mile.

Fantastic...another wind-up merchant emerges.   :kungfu:

The best player Rafa ever signed is Alonso.

Why?

Because he plays for Liverpool, is a Spanish international, AND is currently running in second place in the Grand Prix of Japan.

The man is brilliant.

Rafa: Gerrard form returning
Liverpool boss Rafael Benitez believes Old Trafford will be the perfect stage for skipper Steven Gerrard to return to form.

Gerrard is scheduled to play his 350th game for the Anfield club in Sunday's showdown at bitter rivals Manchester United.

The England midfielder has recovered from the hamstring injury which forced him out of Wednesday's 1-0 Champions League victory in Bordeaux and is set to lead the side out against the Red Devils.

That was the Reds' first away win of the season and Benitez claims their first Premiership victory on the road could not come at a better place than the Theatre of Dreams.

But to do that the Spaniard knows he needs his captain firing on all cylinders and believes everyone is about to see the very best of Gerrard.

Sunday's clash is already being described as critical to the Merseysiders' faltering title dreams because should they lose, the gap between them and the league leaders will be 11 points.

But in the last few days Benitez believes he has witnessed the change he has wanted to see in Gerrard.

The Reds chief said: "Stevie knows he is a key player for us and now I see every training session with him in really good form. He's fantastic in this sort of mood.

"This is maybe the right time for him. His form is returning, we know he can score goals and we certainly need them from him.

"We will see the very best of Stevie very, very soon. He knows his form has not been the same but it is not difficult to see why when you consider what he is being compared with.

"He scored 23 goals last season when previously he had been scoring maybe 10 or 11 a season, which even then was very good.

"This season is different for him. He has been away a lot with England and he is now in the best time for an improvement personally."

Benitez added: "It is important, though, for all 11 players on the pitch to play at a very high level in a match at Old Trafford, it is always a tough game.

"We may have won our first away game of the season, but we still have to do that in the Premiership.

"We have to improve if we want to change the situation, and as soon as possible. This weekend would be perfect."

rafa always times it right when he talks about how important steven gerrard is to liverpool... sometimes it only takes a few words like this  to make a difference...knowing how big sunday's game is  rafa knows a good steven gerrard on sunday will make all the difference...  lets hope so...  :;):
