No seriously it p.isses me off when people defend them, what good are these people who live in the dark ages in todays society?
I seen a program a few weeks back a little girl in Afganistan worked by a baker sorting the bread out in baskets.
She had to dress like a boy, and her hair was like a boys, she said if the Taliban found out she would be killed.
She was 9 years of age and earned about 10 pence a day.
I ask you what kind of people are these?
Who would kill a child that only works in the bakers to bring the stale bread home to feed her family

Also i embrace different peoples beliefs and cultures, however, when those beliefs (extreme) try undermine core values that this country has always stood for, then they can just fuck off back to the piss pot country they came from. There's a saying: when in rome !! you know the rest.

The afghan women have a better quality of life since the taliban have been removed from power FACT.
But they are still there and doing things on the sly.
And that one eyed kunt Omar something or other the Taliban leader is in hiding but still giving orders from some 15th century cave.
Them women have beauty schools, hairdressing salons, schools for higher education now etc etc.
When they remove their burkhas they are extremly beautiful women.
Who have been treated like slaves and dogs.
All because Bin feckin Laden said thats the way it should be.
I would love for him and his cronies to recieve the same punishment these women have had to endure a long suffering very painful death.

The Taliban, an extremist Muslim militia of men, stripped women of many of their basic human rights. The Taliban:

* Banned women from working.
* Closed schools for girls and barred women from universities.
* Prohibited women from leaving their homes unless escorted by a close male relative.
* Forced women to wear the burqa – a long robe covering them from head to toe, except for a small mesh opening at the eyes.
* Beat, publicly flogged or killed women for violating Taliban decrees.

Prior to the Taliban, half the students at Kabul University as well as half the government workforce were women. Women comprised 70 per cent of school teachers and 40 per cent of doctors.

The post-Taliban era

The situation for women in the country remains unstable. In August 2004, The United Nations reported it had registered more than 10 million Afghans to vote – 40 per cent of them women. During the registration drive, a bomb exploded on a bus filled with female election workers, killing two of them. The Taliban claimed responsibility.

Women are always at risk in present-day Afghanistan. On one hand, they can go to school and work, yet, according to many aid organizations, these freedoms are largely restricted to the capital of Kabul. Many women still fear reprisals so they wear the burqa and opt to stay at home.
According to the Revolutionary Association of the Women of Afghanistan (RAWA), an Afghan women's rights organization, incidents of rape and forced marriages of girls under 18 are on the rise again. RAWA says the Ministry of Women's Affairs has no legal jurisdiction and no power to implement any orders.

Old ways pervade the new government. In a New York Times article from Dec. 16, 2003, Sighbatullah Mojadeddi, head of the Afghan Constitutional Loya Jirga, said "Even God has not given [women] equal rights because under his decision, two women are counted as equal to one man." The Loya Jirga is an assembly of tribal elders. It's where decisions are made on issues of national importance.

In areas outside Kabul, restrictions have been reimposed. In Herat, the governor decreed women could not travel with men who are not related to them. Throughout the country, dozens of girls' schools have been set on fire. In May 2004, three girls were poisoned in the southeastern town of Khost for attending school. They had eaten biscuits given to them by a man.

In April 2004, the provincial government in Jalalabad ordered state-run television to stop broadcasting the performances of Afghan women singers. The governor declared female entertainers "un-Islamic." After pressure from the Afghan government, the ban was lifted.(CBC News)

they're just as fundamental as these idiots claiming
to b muslim.

yet not a word is uttered, seems like one rule

Do these Christians start blowing up abortion clinics? NO
Was the USA right in bombing the Taliban and Al Qaeda? YES
The war in Iraq was it neccessary? NO

Christian crusade in the middle east

If the rich Saudi's helped their fellow country men out, and muslims all over the world put a stop to suicide bombers, changed their views to date and not what Allah said millions of years ago, maybe the US foreign policy would change but not while some lunatics are still living in the dark ages and trying to change our democratie.

What gets me these islamic fundamentalists want to come to live in a western civilisation, yet dont agree with it ?
They go up in arms chanting for jihad and threatening peoples lives over a silly drawing.
Yet when mosques are getting blown up every single day in Iraq there is not a murmer from these people?

It really baffles me its ok for islamic's to blow each other up and a day to day bases in Iraq.

If you're that concerned do something about it , don't just sit there whining.

For what it's worth imo the "christian right" are a threat to the democratic process but to compare them to the Taliban is ludicrous.

bush is using his new found religion of some years
ago to justify his actions of going into the middle east
for blood and oil

its no secret that america want to become the mainhyper
power in the world and they will happily steam roll there way
through any country.

america have for far too long being interfering in other
countries politics and decisions and they have invaded
too many countries, and now they are paying the price
for it, a group of idiots have taken a stand against americas
