Understand the sentiment .
But a question to all in here , IF you were LFC's manager ,during your time with the club what would you class as your biggest achievement , (a) winning the premiership or (b) qualifying for the CL every season ?
Personal glory may tempt you to go for the "win the prem" option , but surely qualifying for the CL every season is in fact far more important for the welfare of the club ?

a fair point in all honesty, though sadly an all too true one. it does though conjure up a mindset of "its not the winning its the taking part" approach though, for the sake of millions and millions to waste on miscalculated transfers, stagnation of ambition and the status of ' being just another benign european club' with pots of cash. ahhh, the prowess in being declared " the worlds wealthiest club" what an achievement! also bearing in mind the obstacles to be overcome by actually winning the cup. what, say 13 plus games? even by losing games it is still possible. and the 8 or so clubs who are in a position to do something about it often enough... we all know why that has to be the case. money, the media, all they stand for and their obsessions and whims that change daily. but does it do justice to all the foundations and reputation painstakingly built up.
it kind of worries me that this is what we all at one time drooled over - a european superleague. hell, its what it is...where the reality suggests, nothing could be further from the truth in expecting ANY of the entrants in it- to go on and lift the thing. there are next to no chances of that happening often enough to make it a decent spectacle year after year. i think it is a special thing to win as a one-off campaign, where the team drags the fans through every drama along the way. but not every season.
unlike the league- there is the real football. played in the sh1t and the rain, when the sun shines and where there are no false prophets, zooming in on every incident, football related or otherwise. (yeah right?) thanks to sky tv that isnt the case any longer. and whether you like it or not, we all love the controversy and the intrigue AND the cynicism.
then i suppose you have an argument to say there are even less clubs able to win their own domestic leagues...thats as clear as a bell in our own premiership.
but if your asking which of the two actual trophies would be more desirable to a club with aspirations for a bigger bank account than its own beating hearts ambition...well there again is little contest. its the CL.
give me the league title though, anyday. and call me an old fashioned dreamer while your at it - iam. sorry...
