Clarky's just won his first point to take Europe into a lead after the first morning session. Emotional scenes.

I know a lot of you aren't into golf - but the Ryder Cup is brilliant sport. I've given up my sky sports but I've just discovered you can watch it online. Happy days!

You're just annoyed because Australia's not included.

Anyways,  I seem to have duplicated St Mike's thread so modsters feel free to lock this one up!

Its a great start 5-3 with all every European player already having played.
Clarke is a legend for coming out and performing like that after all he has been through, the crowd seemed fantastic and the scenes on Clarke's first tee were really emotional. What a brave man he is  :bowdown
Great to see el nino Sergio Garcia picking up 2 points in the first day the lads a ryder cup legend.
Cant wait till tomorrow now, the ryder cup followed by the mighty reds then some ryder cup then Reading can hopefully take points off the scumbags.

I know its easy to keep blaming my medical and emotional condition for my lack of interest or motivation, but this is yet another event up there with British open, wimbledon, british GP,football world cup, forthcoming rugby world cup.the Ashes again etc etc    i would normally have all the shirts, fridge full of beer and be a nervous wreck.......BUT i dont give a feck about any of it now and it upsets me to feel such a change,

Sounds like old age kicking in  :rasp

but i do agree, there are all these sports we should take "pride" in but we only do half decent in less than half of them.

OTOH, Golf is one of the very few sports i can both play and watch.

I felt the same way about England in the World Cup this year... it didn't bother me one bit when we lost to Portugal and to tell you the truth I was a bit fed up with Liverpool during the Houllier years and then Rafa came along.

I think you've got to play golf to really appreciate it and the Ryder Cup is a great competition but the BBC went and ruined it for me when they sold out to Sky... f.ucking endless adverts

Super sergio with another two points, he is a f'ckin legend.
Tiger Woods must be cursed when it comes to the Ryder cup he just doesnt perform at all.
Great to see Clarke picking up another point, made up for him.
The irish crowds have been phenomenal as well, would love to be there for the singles tomorrow.
