You guys really know nothing about Turkiye.
Those pics dont reflect the lifestyle of Turkish people. Those are just touristic parades.
And the first pic isnt Turkey. I think that image is from afghanistan or somewhere else...

How do you know that is the summer time?
Tourists come to Turkiye in every season. And they want these parades themselves.
It is an issue about supply and demand...

So what?Did you take that picture yourself?
and main question...
If you couldnt sell items or if people didnt buy your goods, would you still keep on trying to sell them?

afs66... lighten up mate.

We know that the rest of europe (especially the med countries) take the p.iss out of the British, our culture, the way we live our lives, our women and how drunk we get when we go on holiday... but we don't mind because we take the p.iss out of ourselves.  We sell ice-cream in the winter and warm beer in the summer... so you just carry on selling your heavy leather coats to tourists and try not to be offended by a few jokes.

First of all i didnt understand "taking p.iss out" sentence because i couldnt find it from dictionary so i ll answer as i understood.
You must know that i respect your culture as i did other culteres.
And i just want you to respect our culture. Then, i was canalized to offend that heavy leather coats. Ciggy asked a question and i answered. Although every rational person can guess that question's answer himself.
I just wanted you to know that we are not bedouins, also Turkiye isnt desert.because of this thousands of people come to see Turkiye every year and every season. And we are not walking on the streets with Fez on our heads. So that pictures dont reflect our lifestyles.
I didnt tell these to join an argument with you.My purpose was just giving info about Turkiye to unwitting people in this board.
Thats all my mate. And i want you to know that i liked Liverpool all along.:)

we know that mate, we're not stupid :)  (well, apart from judge :D )

you need to lighten up with the cultural differences thing - like phil says we don't mind when people take the p*ss out of britain, it's funny. it's not offensive at all. just like when we take the p*ss out of turkey it's just humour, not offence

Okay.... (scratches head)  ???

"taking the p.iss" means to be sarcastic (hopefully that will be in your dictionary) ... and we (the British) are the best in the world at it.  It is supposed to be the lowest form of wit (humour) .. but it is also the funniest if you understand it... American's tend not to understand sarcasm even though they speak english.

We know that you don't wear the Fez, and we know that you are not bedouins and don't ride camels or live in tents. Because Turkey is very close to the middle east, we joke that you are from the middle east (ie arabian).

Image

This picture does not reflect British women but we know that's what the Germans think of our girls .. we can laugh at it because it is the truth

(I am being sarcastic)

And by the way, I'm not arguing with you I am having a written discussion on a forum.

Also by the way, what does "canalize" mean because it seems rather brutal? Is it what Turks do to people who wear heavy leather coats?
