If Rafa intended to play the crossing game (which we did) then he should have started Crouch, fed up of watching Bellamy and Kuyt running about on the wings!

very very frustrating day, pennant is ineffective, sadly he was our only option, crouch should have started. Pity that Kuyt didnt score :( Drogba has luck today and he was thinking he was god after scoring, you can see that on his face. Gerrard should have been given free role but he was restricted in the middle after zenden came on. IMO if we could have gotten a better winger than Pennant, we could have scored. However so, maybe today aint Pennant's day as well, most of his crosses doesnt reach the target at all other than the last minute Crouch one.

But can you see us winning our remaining 34 games and chelsea an man u losing about 5. I admire the optimism but i just cant see that happening. We've managed to f.uck it up in september, we should be competing with them now not like 10 points behind

Some positives:
Pennant was great, MOM in my opinion.  Provided great width, something that we have been lacking for a long time, he was a good outlet and released a lot of pressure and was very dangerous and created some good chances with those long crosses to Gerrard.
Kuyt looked good aswell, unlucky not to score.  Looked reasonably good partnering Bellamy.  He is making it very hard to leave him out of the team at the moment.  Its going to be him partnering Crouch/Bellamy with the other one coming on as a super-sub. Lets just hope that he doesnt become the next Morientes...........

This season has showed the away teams dont get the crucial decisions.  Its not just us but tends to be a trend with the away sides.  I think we can still get top 3 but the title is gone.  2 defeats already is real bad.  Last week and Sheffield Utd was vital dropped points.  todays game wouldnt of been so icrucial if we hadnt dropped points already.

Its like starting a marathon a mile behind everyone else as one of the commentators said, i cant see us getting it back

TBH if Arsenal get a result we're no worse off than we were, just no better off. We'll still be 8 points behind the leaders with a game in hand.

I never thought I'd say this, but COME ON YOU GOONERS!

How unlucky was we?

we said this after the game against the blue nose, now we're saying this again. How many time are we gonna use this excuse? Too many new players & too much tinkering don't give us consistency.

Alonso was off the pace, Gerard played out in an unfamiliar  position, Pennants made many crosses but seldom any good ones, Kuyt missed a couple of glorious chances, Crouch introduced too late...we could played for another 2 hours but don't think the results will be any difference...FFS we controlled the game for a good 30 mins and we got nothing to show for, it's shattering but not as bad as our loss last week!!!

well..
i thought we played well and im proud :)
we only conceded 1 at stamford bridge (one of the hardest grounds to win at)
we created chances which was good :)
and we should have got a peno but it never happened..
we could have so easily won that game..
but least we played well and proved to chelsea we are a threat :D

One person is to blame for the start of the season and its no other than Senior Rafael Benitez.
There is no-one anywhere in the world at any stage who is any bigger or any better than this football club.
