Why is the thought of Alan Curbishley managing us so alien to some fans ? In pure footballing terms the man is an innovative manager who in my opinion would if Chelsea had not snatched Parker finished in a european place ,he also motivates his players to play to win,which beggars the question if the premiership title is our priority then why employ a european who is best equipped for an assault on the champions league ? just a thought !

I agrre with you Red Beergoggles. unfashionable he might be in these days of glamour managers as well as Players but AC is a supeb man manager, as he proved with Di cannio last season .

He balances the books and selling parker for £10 Million PLUS getting Carlton Cole as part of the deal may prove to be excelelnt business.

Also he is respected throughout football and tactically he is as aware as most. Did the double over Liverpool last season as well .... perhaps THATS WHY he isn't liked !LOL

sadly in the present climate Dalglish ,recruiting an English manager is shunned and seen as unfashionable and in my opinion it is an absolute travesty, that a manager like Curbishley and others who have proven ability are not given the chance at the helm of a great club ,it is a sad trend that is stifling the growth of the English game,but i agree totally with your post sadly other fans just see thwe glamour

Its just "jump on The Bandwagon" time I'm afraid with many fans although in Benitez we will be getting a very capable manager...... Psst , ITS FACT . he is the NEXT LFC manager. Try putting a bet on in liverpool on him becoming the next LFC manager and watch the bookies laugh you out of the shop !!!!!

Forum's and Newspapers speculate to increase membership and sell copies but the bookies are no mugs and suspending betting on benitez says far more than any newspaper ever will !!!!

AC will probably get the Spurs job and i for one wish him well. i've ben championing him for months and got laughed at but talk is cheap and opinion divided.........

Anyone who knows their football surely must advocate Curbs for the position ,his capabilities are there for all to acknowledge and on a purely footballing basis it should be cut and dried,but its obvious Benitez is the man i just pray he manages to persuade Ruben Baraja and Aimar who in my opinion would grace any midfield in Europe to join our assault on the premiership,and then i would be more than sated
