Nice one Phil, sounds like things are finally picking up a bit.
I hope for you, Karen and the kids, this is a great step forward.

Glad to hear the 30 minutes in the garden, I'm sure some fresh air -provided there's still that in occidental cities- will help a lot.

I once told you that you shouldn't worry about posting how you feel, but you seem to have doubts!

I have not misunderstood Zara at all.She is a sweetheart and i know exactly what her kind words mean.I'm on about the people who must be getting fed up with my ramblings about my health.I'm sure people dont come on here after a hard days graft to read about my trials and tribulations.
I think maybe i should only answer questions to do with my cancer by pm and take it away from the forum.People can get full enjoyment from the site again, without me making them feel suicidal.
Zara no hard feelings sweetheart,i never took it the wrong way, xx

No mate, it's not like that, I'll speak for my self on this one.

I read eagerly the developments you write. I'd like to read better news sometimes but it was definitely worse when you weren't around here, I hadn't direct news about how were you doing, and I only knew that you were in a hospital and without internet connection to break the boredom of the hospital. At least now, there's that connection. If you weren't posting how you feel I'd still know you're suffering, I couldn't just forget about it!!!

So please continue updating us. I sometimes don't answer because sometimes I don't find the words. Or I start answering and I find my words hollow and meaningless. For instance I think of posting "keep fighting mate" but I feel it's ridiculous to say that because that's what you're doing since moment one. I just don't find the correct words to express what I feel. But you can bet that "I'm there" reading what you have to say, regardless I answer back or not. For me knowing that writing all this makes you feel a little bit better is very important.

Keep us posted mate!

Getting píssed  is a million miles off yet,as going in a pub is.I've had two pints since June last year (15 months) because of how i am and the countless medication i'm on.I take roughly 17 tablets 3 times a day,4 different creams, nebulisers as well.
I think a wine gum would leave me leg lessI could drink for Britain a while back not now.
It looks as though i may be spending a couple of weeks in the hospice soon and not one as previously mentioned.Karen really does need a break from it all.So one week recovery from operation and one weeks respite. They have told me today the Douglas McMillion care home (hospice) that is they have a wireless internet feed there,so hopefully i will still be in touch, unlike my14 weeks in hospital........ :nod

Took it a step further today, but maybe it was a bit early.Got downstairs, used a zimmer to get into the garden,Karen pushed me in the wheelchair to the car and we drove (she did) for about a 5 mile round trip..I was in tears in pain by time we got back home and been in bed since feeling :censored:.The pain in my unused joints has been horrific this afternoon. So maybe the garden for 30 minutes is my limit for a while.
Its my own fault.....i get mobility allowance that has to be spent on a car,so we had a people carrier all
paid for by them and running costs included 7 weeks ago.I had never been in it all though its been parked outside,so today i woke up thinking "i'm going in there today"......wish i hadnt yet.

Bad news is that you tried to do too much instead of taking a little step, good news is that a week or two ago, even going gown to the garden seemed to be too much!. Now rest, and keep advancing, but slowly!

I agree with Sabre on this one Drummerphil. I have never spoken with your personally or through PM or don't even think I have spoek to you on this forum, but I was sad when I read this thread.

I am keen to know your progress m8 and wish you all the best and hopefully a speedy recovery, from what I have read so far you have a lot of heart and soul and you do not see that alot

Phil, I haven't been onto the forum nearly as much the last couple of months. I'm not really sure why but i usually go through stages of posting lots, and others when i just have a bit of a read. Like many on here i care for a guy i have never met and this is always the first thread i look at when i log on.

Keep fighting the good fight Phil and don't think for a single minute that we don't want to hear about every step of your battle (good or bad) because we do.

Hello Phil, I am one of the forums "newbies", I have though, read the whole thread. I think you are a fantastic fella with a fantastic woman behind you.
I thought that my life was misery being out of work with a missus and two kids, how wrong I was, became clear after reading what you and your family have been through.
I respect you and your fight, whatever happens Phil, dont loose the faith. Never forget, YNWA.
