What if chelsea offer £50m for gerrard - Will you let him go?

Ooh hark you.  Should that not be  learn some manners.  Well my point is Gerrard couldnt lace ZZ's boots.  To claim SG was englands best player last night wouldn't be something to write home about.  A true world class player would grab the game by the scruff of the neck.  Not let it pass him by as it did in the 2nd half against the mighty Japanese

Gerrard is allowed a subdued performance every now and again and it may as well be in a friendly game.  As for ZZ, yeah hes a great player but his performances for Real since Christmas have been well below par.  If both players perform in the England V. France game like they did for their respective clubs last season I'd back Gerrard to win the duel hands down.

Real Madrids big problem is the defence.  Alan Hansen would have a heart attack watching them. ZZ is still the man as England may find out in that game

I thought, to quote you "A true world class player would grab the game by the scruff of the neck.  Not let it pass him by ..." Does that not applied to Zidane (in Madrid colour) as well?
Whether Zidane or Gerrard is a better player might not be conclusive in one single game. There are tactics, formation and 10 other players to consider. Everything being equal, Zidane is more technically gifted whereas Gerrard has more pace, power, energy and defensive quality.

Yes it probably does, but I think ZZ is more likely to win you a game than SG.  In saying that ZZ is surrounded by quality players where as SG has some duffers beside him just now.  So hats off to him for playing well at the moment under the circumstances.

Are Benitez's footballing principles really what we need ? as ive been reading certain quotes he's made in the past and i cant help having reservations ,basically the gist is this' Benitez has stated more than once in the Spanish media that his philosophy is the least number of passes that lead to a goal are in his view the most pleasing ,and he has often been lambasted by the press for his less adventurous style of football. It is also true Valencia's current brand of football would be more suited to Serie A ,but i will reserve judgement until ive witnessed them when the season gets under way, there is no doubt Benitez's teams play to win and defensively they are rigid but have never been popular with the press and sports analysts ,anyone else share my views ?

Valencia can't be a bad side.  They did win the spanish league and the UEFA cup.  Its quite hard to tell because unless they were playing Mr Beckhams real Madrid you wouldn't see them they were never off sky  :D

Yup... He's team do play defensively... And I think he wouldn't let Gerrard go even Chelsea offer Liverpool a 50mil bid for Gerrard

I think this "if chelsea offer 50" is a tricky question. As a fan who has nothing to do with responsibility of dealing with £Ms and keeping all stake & share holders happy, i will absolutely say no way, he's god, etc.

But every manager in the world who face this situation would absolutely at least give the offer some considerable thoughts for such huge money.

so, nothing serious chats will be more acceptable.
