If I was Rafa I would personally give everyone of the players who played against the blue sh!t a rollocking.

Reina: At fault for the 3rd goal and hasn't been in great form so far this year. 4/10
Finnan: Not his best game but was probably one of our better players. 6/10
Carragher: Shouldn't of played. Wasn't fit and Johnson ran him and Sami raggered. 5/10
Hyypia: Couldn't cope with Johnson's pace. He always seemed to be at left-back. 5/10
Aurellio: Performed well in his first Merseyside derby. 6/10
Gerrard: Wasn't seen. We needed him to grab the game by the scruff of the neck and he didn't. 5/10
Alonso: Probably our worse player. Didn't pass the ball to one of players at all. 3/10
Sissoko: Too many silly fouls. Needs to improve his game techniqueally. 5/10
Garcia: Didn't do anything that was impressive. Didn't do anything wrong either. 6/10
Fowler: Brilliant for the first 20 minutes then went missing. 6/10
Crouch: Non exsitant. 4/10
Kuyt: Very enthusiastic and has to start against Chelsea. 7/10
Riise: Unfortuante injury but I don't think that will bother us. He didn't do much when he was on. 5/10
Pennant: Wasn't given enough time to change the course of the game. 6/10

In my opinion it is Rafa we have to blame. At the start of the second half he was going to bring on Pennant yet it took him until the 77th minute to do so. Carra wasn't fit so shouldn't of played and Agger has been brilliant so should of easily started. He didn't take Bellamy when he is the one in any match who will cause the most problems for opposing defenders.

Watched the game again last night-purely to analyse. Whilst it hurt to watch it was also a useful experience.

I listened to (national) radio for a good while after the game, and the analysis is, it took Everton to be at their absolute best and Liverpool approaching their worst for this to happen.
Words used to describe the respective performances; Everton-brilliant, superb, fantastic, unbelievable etc. Liverpool-poor, lethargic, mistake ridden etc. Yet still the game hinged on OUR defensive short comings on the day and a palpably bad refereeing performance.

After the game the overriding emotion is (obviously) disappointment. That stays for a while, longer with some than others, but I forced myself to look again and more closely.
For my money we played the majority of the good football that was on display, I can remember very few occasions when we were torn apart by their rampant attack. I remember plenty of occasions when AJ picked the ball up and had to wait for support so far back were they sitting.
Their central defenders (Yobo in particular) looked less than assured an whatever we think about Aurelio imagine replacing him with Naysmith???
In esscense I don't think the performance warranted the result-that is looking at it from both ways, Evertonians will obviously dis-agree, but whilst we were being mocked by one guy saying we've no chance of winning the title-same dude even saying Everton will finish above Liverpool, he was blissfully unaware of a few things.
Firstly they had maybe 4-5 shots on goal and scored 3 goals. If they continue to score at that rate, then the title race will be over by Xmas.
Secondly being 3 games into the season-punctuated by internationals is not any kind of yard stick to the remaining 30 odd games, and finally maybe they should listen to their boss and gauge his ambition, which is to get to 40 points (thus avoiding relegation) and see from there.

Wonder how many Liverpool fans started the season with the same thougths and ambition? :;):

Right before they scored, the stats of possesion showed a 78% for Liverpool and the Commentator of "Satanta networks" (whoever they are) said Rafa had to be happy with the control of the game we were doing. But then their goal came due to a defensive mistake. Sometimes the score doesn't show properly what happens in the pitch.
