New stadium - A couple of questions

Liverpool Football Club - General Discussion

Postby PhiLFC » Sat Sep 09, 2006 11:21 am

Its gonna happen so...

1. Which team would you like us to play to open our new stadium?

2. What should it be called?  Anfield, Stanley Park, Stanfield... (though this will probably be decided on the sponsors ie Emirates, Reebok etc)

3. New stand names?

1. Id like to see a Bluenose Derby or a newly promoted side.

2. It Should be called New Anfield or just Anfield but i fear it will be called the "Adidas Arena" or something like that.

3. We need one stand to be called the Kop or the New Kop but the rest are debatable, maybe "The Ian Rush Stand" or "The Shankly Stand" or maybe "The 3-All stand" :p

It should be called the S.J.H Stadium (As in Sir John Houlding) without him we wouldnt have our beloved.

The stands should be named after the people who have kept the Liverpool FC spirit going, Bill Shankly who made LFC what they are today, Bob Paisley who brought the first major success in europe to the club and Kenny Dalglish who was so strong during the Hillsborough Tragedy for many of the familys the fourth stand? how about letting the familys decide who lost there beloved?

My only fear is funding may result in a sponsored name..................... Reebok, Emirates, JJB..........
Never buy from PC World, product quality is poor and their 'customer service' is even poorer

Call it Anfield and call it the kop but it wont be anfield and it wont be the kop, times are changing, and theres only one place for Anfield and the Kop. Lets move forward while remembering the past

Well no matter what it's official title is, the new stadium will always be "New Anfield".

Stand names:

1. The Spion Kop.
2. The Bill Shankly Stand.
3. The Hillsborough Memorial Stand. (Have a white 96 with an eternal flame either side fashioned into the seats, just as "L.F.C." is now.)
4. The Bob Paisley Stand.

No need for anything else.

I heard from a friend's friend's step brother's mates wife that they were gonna call one "Custers Last Stand", another side "By your Man, Stand" another side is gonna be called "The Microphone Stand" and the other "The Kop".

as for the stadium name, they're not sure.

Good stuff Lando

I'd love to see a Paisley statue though... Shanks and Paisley statues at the main entrance...  Yeah that'll do it...

I would like to see all the Season Ticket holders (I'm not one by the way....10 years and counting) be asked for their opinions on the naming of the stands.  They're the boys who're going to be paying for the thing in the long run!!
