They will struggle to deal with pace getting in behind them. I mean David Weir makes Sami Hyypia look like William Gallas in speed terms. Nuno Valente is p#ss poor and "England's next left back" Tony Hibbert is just a dirty ba$tard.

I agree but to be fair we have let in some shockers so far this season. The defending for the Sheffield Utd goal was dismal and the marking for Lee Bowyers effort for west ham that hit the post was non-existent.

I think defensively we have to be as careful as they do. But in balance I think our goal scoring prowess and our recent derby form has to put us as favourite.

2-1 although 3-1 is possible if we can finish most of those chances we make for ourselves!

This will not be an open game atall, they will pack the midfield and hope to score from a set piece as this is our weakness, they will break the play every minute so our passing game cannot get flowing.
We really need an early goal so they have to come out, if we do get one expect a big scoreline for us.
There is no-one anywhere in the world at any stage who is any bigger or any better than this football club.

I'm going for a 2-1 scoreline but wouldn't be surprised if it finished goaless.

These derby's rarely scale the heights in terms of quality and as I think others have said Everton will almost certianly play 4-5-1 and hope to grab something from a set play.

Last season saw two early strikes from Liverpool and it was all too easy in the end and had to be one of our easiest away victories for many a year but Everton were on apoor run and it was towards the end of a busy Christmas programme. It's probably come a bit too early for most fans and players alike but expect the usual frantic first 20 minutes and lets see what happens from there on in  :p

We will get that early goal, with Kuyt now in the frame, he'll cause them untold problems as the Bluebells are suspect at the back.

I'm going for a 4 nil win for us.

Can,t see it being 4-1, IMO it will be a close game decided by one goal, 2-1 or 1-0 for us of course.
As for Utd being our biggest game, don,t agree, beating the BS twice a season is far more satisfactory.

I expect a quite open game tomorrow!I dont think Everton will play defencively as they have their new 'hero' Andy Johnson! They will more than likely play every ball they can upto him and hope he does the business! If Carras fit which looks likely i hope Raffa puts Carra on him..this will keep him quiet!

As for us i really hope Crouch starts cause in this form hes sure to score at least 1...Crouch and Kuyt are the pairing id like to see upfront!
Its hard to say who we will start with because Raffa may feel a few are tired after the internationals midweek. The one player i dont want to see starting is Garcia,he has his good points but hes just not tough enough for games like this !Its gonna be physical
I would love to see Sissoko back again, its looking likely! I feel that he could do a great joib on Cahill and keep him out of the game.
As for our chances i think we will win 3-1 and Crouch will score 1st....50/1 at Ladbrookes by the way i have a fiver on that!
Just signed up for the PPV season ticket today, the girl from NTL says its usually active within 1-2 hours but can take up to 24hrs! This was at 4pm today!
I politely told her that if it wasnt active at 12.45 tomorrow she can give me a refund and i'll hit the pub instead!
Not missing this game for the world...GOOD LUCK REDMEN! :buttrock

man i'm looking forward to this one! rafa has to get as many scousers in as possible. please play

                   reina
finnan   carra         sammi        riisse

pennant    gerrard       alonso       zenden

             fowler       kuyt

bench    aggar(cover for carra) , momo, bellamy, garcia

we must get the old back 4 in -- prep for the big games next week, zenden because he understands and won't be intimidated, fowler cos god is god and kuyt cos he's a big guy and i think just needs to get in there and this is a good place to start

i really would like to avoid fabio and speedy as this could/will be a war and i worry that they aren't ready for that. no crouch -- save him he's had alot of travel

its just time to get it together and get going.
