Liverpool Football Club - General Discussion

Why have you put Sissoko in the anchorman role? Surely it would be best to place Alonso there and have Gerrard alongside Sissoko?

To disrupt the feed from Everton's midfield and divert Cahill's attention.

we need to play 4-4-2 and use the width of the field. as far as i'm concerned, nuno valente is a major weak link for them so we should spoon field whoever plays right side, be it gerrard or pennant.

Gerrard and Pennant will murder them down the right. Kuyt will probably start as the loan striker and feed off the right flank.
I don't think either Bellamy or Crouch will start the game and Rafa will try to keep the left flank tight with Zenden infront of Aurelio or use Aurelio infront of Warnock (if fit)
Five in midfield will give us width alright. We just won't be holding any ball upfront. Kuyt will be shooting on sight at every opportunity, I can see a Derby debut hat-trick here. Lescott will have problem's with Kuyt running at him.

i think we should play 4-4-2 for this game.
and play (if carra and sissoko are fit)

...................reina
finnan......carra...hyypia......warnock
pennant..sissoko..gerrard.....gonzalez
............crouch.....bellamy

warnock for aurelio because i feel that if we had aurelio and gonzalez on the
left flank it seems a bit vunerable, defence wise.
would definately look to put on kuyt at some point, i feel he will make a HUGE impact in this game.

only worry for me is that if carra is not back then andy johnson, i feel, will have his way with hyypia (pace wise).

i predict a 3-1 win.

gerrard, crouch & kuyt. and johnson for neverton.

C'MON YOU REDMEN!!!

Isnt Goodison one of the smallest pitches in the league, like the old highbury pitch ?

from an everton forum that shall remain nameless.

carragher one of the best defenders around? around where - the vauxhall conference. he is slow, average in the air, and suffers massive lapses in concentration where he is often caught out of position.

Riise, Alonso, Gerrard, they are great players and would be worthy of a place in our Everton squad I think, but no-one else. Reina is not as good as Howard, his fluffs and mistakes are constant - and he didn't even compare to Nigel Martyn. I would rather have Yobo & Lescott anyday over Carragher & Hyppia or Agger, I say that with absolutely no doubt in my mind. Osman or Pennant? Easily Osman. Arteta or any of their midfield (except Gerrard)? easily Arteta, too!

Liverpool may have had better squads in the past but this year, it's a fact that they are NOT better than us.

If you think that they are, you must also think that Portsmouth are better than us, Bolton are better than us, and Newcastle are better than us.

No rationale whatsoever in your claim.

I'm all for reallism, I agree our squad isnt as good as Chelski's or the red mancs but I honestly believe that our squad is to the same level of Arsenal and the sh#te.

There's very few of those RS players I'd have in a Blue Shirt. Bellamy, Crouch - :censored:. Kuyt?, a prospect, not a proven goalscorer in the prem, AJ has a year in the prem under his belt and aquitted himself well.

Gerrard?, yes he possibly might make the reserves (I can't bring myself to give him anymore credit). But excuse me? wasn't he gonna win the world cup for us??, don't believe all the hype.

Reina, No, Howard is at least his equal at present but will quickly surpass him.

Their back four, No thanks, can't defend set pieces...

....Alonso's ok but on a par with Arterta.

That other geezer, the thumb sucking infant can shove it up his :censored: - Osman all day long.

By 4everblue

Kuyt, Bellamy, Drogba, Shevchenko, Saha, Rooney, Henry, Van Persie

only shevchenko and henry are better than AJ out of that line up, and im serious!

Very, it seems to have rubbed off on the bitter players too judging by the corker that Tim Cahill produced the other day.

Graham Poll is the ref on saturday

:O

OMG, with his tendancies to dish out x-amount of cards to players maybe it isnt a good idea if he refs the match, afterall Everton will surely be looking to crack a few bones I'm sure.

Well Im glad he is the ref TBH, he wont stand for the bluesh.ite kickin 10 bags of sh.it out of our players.
And he wont give into the Woodison crowd, he hates them  :D

Heres one email this was sent to SKY, EFC and the FA.

I am contacting you to register my disgust at the selection of Graham Poll to officiate in the match between Everton and Liverpool this weekend.

Firstly this match will be shown on Sky and viewed around the world and in light of his performance at the World Cup he should hardly be officiating in one of the most fiercely contested derbies in the world. He should not be allowed to referee this match.

Secondly his performance in previous derbies leaves much to be desired.I speak in relation to the disallowed goal scored by Don Hutchinson , where he claims he blew for the end of the match , but tv replays quite clearly show the ball had crossed the line before he blew and there is also the decision not to send Steven Gerrard off for his two footed over the ball lunge on Gary Naysmith.Look at the picture attached , how could he miss that ?

This is an absolutely disgraceful selection , and I know that I am not the only one that feels this way

O.k, but so long as he remembers 2 yellows and its off  :D  otherwise there gonna end up with 11 on the pitch.  :D
