why? it worked against Chelsea didn't it?

Chelsea weren't a 100% whether you like to admit it or not and to be honest, it only worked because Sissoko was so immense in the centre of the park. Zenden wasn't bad in that match, but he wasn't the best, we should of started with a stronger side today.

Arsenal 1-1 Aston Villa.

I'm just trying to say that we can't judge a sissoko-zenden partnership only because of 1 game.

is Zenden a good player? He hasnt proven anything.  He was :censored: at Barca, average at Chelsea and ok at Boro.  Good enough for Liverpool?  Never.

I hate the fact that we still have Hyppia just lumping balls forward.  I dont see any positives to that tactic.  Just keep the ball and pass it.

I'm confused, i don't think we need to drop points against the big teams, I think we need to win the big teams to achieve any dropped points.

chances are...we'll drop points against the big teams....
key to winning the title...win the games against the weaker sides and get as many points from the top clubs !

ace, what i try to say is, i hope benitez will allow warnock to play and aurelio to be given time to settle, he looks quite light weight at times. zenden imo should be used as a back up or when he's needed, i dont believe he can replace alonso or sissoko now unless they are playing badly. Alonso is essential in benitez tactics as we need a good passer to spread the ball to the target man or wings while sissoko provides the covering, zenden is pretty much average in everything but not really excels in any. i would prefer him to be used as a left winger until kewell's back

gonzalez need to run at the def goddamn it, run by the byline and cross, use your speed!!!! he's too nervous now and over exposing imo is bad. it cant be helped since riise was injuired though.

good point.... noticed that in the game today.... gonzales's defensie game is pretty bad ! he made a run behind the ball a couple of times only and just sat there in the front not pressuring anyone for the most part of the second half ! i think that he needs to work on his defensive game because if we were to play 4-4-2 and he was to start, he needs to go back and help the back 4 when we lose the ball !
but he is pretty quick... should do well if he settles down a bit... too overwhelmed by the stage imo....

zenden was a waste of time..should have been stevie g in the middle with j.p on the right..we were unfortunate to lose 2 defenders which limited rafas options but lets us not judge on 1 premiership game only..

Two very important points lost against what looked like a hardworking but poor side. Not the end of the world but a very disapointing result. We need to hit form soon (shades of England :(   )if we are to be ready for the bigger tests ahead. We had injuries, the grass was long and perhaps we underestimated the opposition. CL qualification is vital, so hopefullywe can shake this result off and move on. Any other straws I can clutch will be greatly appreciated.
