poor performance? I thought it was an average performance, poor first half, but a good second half.

Gerrard didn't do well? I disagree, he was everywhere! he shifted from the right to the center to the left and running everywhere to create chances. I think he was the best player in the Liverpool side to be honest with Bellamy coming second.

It was always going to be tough against a newly promoted team at their "stadium" (or shed) with something to prove.

We didn't play very well. Something was just lacking. We had no flow.

It's only the first game though, and we have to make sure we get through that Champions League match.

Manhattan noticed that they left their grass long and the sidelines were visibly narrowed.

When they play at Anfield, we should plant vines across the pitch, place Sellotape across our goal, and shut off all hot water into their dressing room.

I don't think Stevie played well either. Especially 2nd half, he was trying to hard it seemed and nothing was coming off. But the lad at right back just winds me up so much, he doesn't even look or play like a footballer, he's so, weird. Was Finnan injured? I got up late and dashed to the alehouse, without brekky, didn't hear the team news.

Hate to say it but this time I agree with Oasis.... this was a bad, bad result. I did see the game and Krompkamp was utterly Sh!te.... and not too bright. In the dying seconds he took a free kick against a Sheffield United player to try and gain some ground or something stupid like that.... and the referee awarded a throw in which effectively killed our last chance.... Bleedin idiot.

Zenden was poor... should have been substituted and replaced with pennant... why on earth Robbie was taken out, I cannot fathom.... He wasn't having his best game but still had some good touches... case in point being the 1-2 with Stevie which led to the penalty (which really wasn't btw.... we just got lucky... ref must have been blind).

Rafa has to take the blame for this.... team selection was a big surprise.... as well as some of the tactics.... We took our foot of the pedal after we'd equalized FFS!...

I still think that he's the best man to take us forward (One bad result does not mean he's a :censored: manager for Christ sakes!!). He made a mistake and it's cost us 2 points which we may live to regret at the end of the season.....

and against Sheffield United?? the other big teams will gobble them up and spit out their bones..... as we should have done....

Screwed up way to start the season.... Gonna p!ss-off to the boozer with some mates to drown me sorrows.... :(

Two points could certainly be the difference between some of the teams that finish in the top five.

Dropping two points today is not a catastrophe but I am suprised at how some seem to so easily dismiss their potential importance .

but look at some of the positives in the games, we have improved alot!

we're talking about this game only, metalhead
there was nothing improving
yes we're a bit better at the second half, yet still far from decent

of course not a disaster losing this game, but i really expected there would be no more frustrating roller coaster this season (as a line drawn to the last season)

if we hadn't won the match agaisnt chelsea maybe i wouldn't be too bother; we're just not good enough that's all.

Martin O'neil never ceases to amaze me.  I told Arsenal fans I know not to be surprised if Villa get something at Emirates. O'Neil gets players to run through walls for him.

Mate.... don't get your knickers in a twist over that kunt Warnock... Not worth it....

We only had ourselves to blame for this result.... need to focus on that and get things into perspective.

The Liverpool "fans" on the BBC message board are funny.

One guy apparently was questioning what "Pennant was doing at this club?"

Bit harsh, since he only played nine minutes.
