all over, not good enough i am afraid. we have to be winning these games. i am surprised we played the team that we did. its common sense that they will be up for it, first game etc

I dont understand what all the long balls are about, we have enough quality to pass the ball in to the opposition half yet during that match we chose to hoof it up the pitch.

Shocking Display, but credit to Sheffield they came out and battled.

Sheff worked hard but I expect Chelsea and Utd will get 3 or 4 against them :(

old symptoms just wouldn't go
wasting many points at the earlier stages and then running like a thief  from the middle of the competition :(

I mean, what do you expect? They've just come up - this would have probably been most of their players biggest game. They put all their energy into it and battled. I just don't understand why we played that team from the start.

mmmmm....rafa's bad...underestimated sheff. utd by some margin !
Finnan should have started and Pennant too !
Fowler wasnt good enough and Kromkamp for the most part of the game was poor ! I think we need to find our best starting 11 and stick to them if we are to compete for anything ! cant see us getting nowhere with the way we played today ! simply not good enough !
And sheff. utd were'nt good at all ! it was us who were cra.ppy !

listen guys we have a squad and any team rafa put out today should of been able to beat sheff utd, dont forget we have an important game on tuesday.

whilst we didnt play well today the injuries in the first half effected our play and our options to change it later on.

I said at the start of this thread that this was a potentially tricky game and that Rafa should start the strongest 11 possible. He didnt and we dropped points, the side he selected should of been good enough anyway, but why tinker right at the start of the season ?
We had a chance to start the season on a high and put pressure straight away on the others, now we havent and are straight away on the backfoot.
Its not the end of the world but i am extremely dissapointed.
I thought Hyypia and Kromkamp were awful in posession and need to realise keeping the ball is vital, the amount of times they just play high balls into the strikers...missing out the midfield is stupid. We had Fowler and Bellamy upfront, no Crouch so logic says, give it into feet.
Rafa's team selection and the unfortunate injuries to Carragher and Riise have caused us to waste 2 points already and thats so frustrating.
I think alot of teams will drop points there though, Warnock will have his players fired up and with the crowd behind them as well it wont be an easy place for teams to go and get 3 points imo.

i forgot how much i disliked warnock...

on a footy side, getting sheff utd out of the way this early could be good for us. We played some real good football and still look a little rusty but i liked how we played more or less throughout and not too worried here yet
