Gerrard's autobiography - Issues arising

Liverpool Football Club - General Discussion

Haven't read it yet, but there is a lively response on the various sites on the web dedicated to LFC.

It is regretted by many that Gerrard decided to serialise his story in TNOTW--a sister paper of the S*n. On the other hand, it's recognised that a ban doesn't exist on TNOTW and also that Gerrard must have had the green light from Anfield. More strangely, the paper is blamed for quoting Gerrard as saying all his England and Liverpool team mates will be invited to his wedding. Apparently, this is clearly an example of a sh**te paper misquoting and getting the order wrong. Apparently Gerrard must really have said (or written) that he'd invited his Liverpool and England team mates! Personally I'm not convinced and don't think it matters anyway.

Gerrard slates England for being overconfident at the WC (could have told him that!) and draws the lesson from being knocked out by the first half decent team they met.

All in all a bit soon for an Autobiography in my opinion!

i dont understand the point you are trying to make here. gerrard gets married next year so saying he will be invinting players to the wedding is the correct tense

I guess it's not out yet, as these things are generally serialised first....Peewee, read it again slowly...the emphasis is on the ORDER (England-Liverpool or Liverpool-England?)

I think the point you're making mate is about our players dealing with the rags.

Mate, I doubt Stevie wouild make the mistake of associating himself with that despicable rag of a newspaper.  Nothing to worry about.  More than likely, excerpts have been released from the book and the papers have bid for the rights and the winner takes it all.  It will not have been an exclusive deal as such with The S*n or NOTW.

For one, Robbie Fowler made a big deal in his book about not doing any kind of deal with that rag.  Fowler made absolutely sure that they were not printing a word of his book as a serialisation.

You're not telling me that if Stevie was going to do a deal with them, Robbie would not have had a quiet word in his shell like and offered advice.  By the looks of things, Steven Gerrard is nobody's fool.  Footballers are stupid, but not that stupid.

Unless you're Wayne Rooney, the stupid tit.

Actually I have no idea. Maybe he's not as bothered as some people on here. It just seemed stupid to me that someone was insisting with exactitude that he must have included his Liverpool mates before his England mates. Who cares? Sometimes I say my wife and kids, while other times I might refer to the kids and wife. It's not rocket science and doesn't have any great significance. Furthermore, everyone knows that Gerrard is great friends with Lampard and Rooney anyway.

By the way I was just bringing your attention to something that as far as I can see has not been mentioned before: namely that Gerrard's Autobiography is being serialised in TNOTW. Personally I don't buy the paper: I don't buy any English newspaper as I've lived abroad for the last 10 years!
