Not a very convincing proformance but the lads got the win and that's what we all wanted in the end.

Like last season we lacked a cutting edge but that should be sorted out when the first team gets a few games under its belt and they get to know each other games. Also when the strikers (probably Bellamy and Fowler) get used to each others playing style and movements.

I wasn't too happy with the defence tonight as they seemed to be caught out too easily and some tackles didn't go in when they should. I have every confidence they will come good thinking back to their proformances last season.

I thought Sissoko was one of our best players tonight, he seems to have improved his passing and hopefully he will continue to improve and develop this season.

I thought Pennant played well with good support coming from Finnan. Most of our attacking wing play came down the right and there were some good crosses put into the box in both halves. I was disappointed with Zenden and I don't think he will play much this season unless there are a few injuries.

I thought Gonzalez took his goal well and cannot wait to see more of him this season and I had to laugh at Alonso hitting the ref from about seven yards  .

Momo was our best by some way tonight.... Shades of Viera in him and I'm looking forward to more this season. Zenden looked off the pace but I'll give him the benefit as it was his first serious run out for 10 months, dunno how long Rafa will stand for it though. Pennant can be a real threat on that wing but Stevie's best employed in the middle where he can dictate more. Roll on Sunday   YNWA

Manhattan was.....impressed.

It's tough to come back into competitive football after the long World Cup break and then the friendlies, but I think we generally played well. Sloppiness caused the Haifa goal and they had a few chances that we really should have prevented.

Pennant and Sissoko particularly stood out. Good to see the new boys getting the goals. I think the guys played quite well, and the new kit looked awesome. We need to be careful in the second leg, but I think we'll have enough to get by.

Still need another striker though and maybe a few more additional players. We're on the right track though.

Bad performance overall.

Pennant and Bellamy Looked Nervous to me.
Most of pennants crosses found no-one!

And why didn't we see Gonzalez earlier? Zenden has not not changed my opinion that he is strictly ordinary!

Only Sissoko and Stevie Shined for me tonight. Sissoko Man of the Match.

GOnzalez's strike has made us look better that it could have been. and we looked slow. exactly what i expected in this stage of season.

yeah sunday would be nice, just need pennant & aurelio to bag their first goals for us and we're laughing

being serious both bellamy & pennant looked good tonight, i've got a really good feeling they'll both be seriously effective for us. if we get kuyt then him, fowler, bellamy & crouch make for a very different strikeforce giving us so much diversity and options in how we play up front.

my only disappointment tonight was riise who looked a little rusty but i'm sure it's just lack of match fitness and that masudi(sp?) lad he was up against was a useful player
