Traore to sign for charlton - £2m fee agreed according to reports

Liverpool Football Club - General Discussion

Postby RUSHIE#9 » Sun Aug 06, 2006 5:04 pm

I'm nearly as happy as i was the day after we won the champions league at this news. £2m for traore is like winning the lottery, a massive return for very little input. I'm amazed that there are so many on here saying they are a little sad to see him go (no doubt though it's only a very very small part of each of ya's :D ).
I am proposing now that we have a whip round and not only pay for djimi's travel costs to london but we also get together and wave him off. Admittedly he has been a reasonable servant to the club and we should send him off in style by getting him one of those £1 coach tickets - I'll chip in the first 5p.

I'll wont miss Djimi but he was funny to watch in games that didn't matter. When he came on in the semi against Chelsea though my heart was in my mouth whenever he went near it.

All the best Djimi :)

I am a little dissapointed he is going, if we didn't have the talent we do in his position I would be happy to see him stay, he has been with the club quite a while and really pulled up his socks when we needed him to, I am sure he will do well at Charlton and I hope he gets at least a little reception when he comes back to anfield.

I thought he had the tools to become a good defender but his decision making was what let him down. He did his best for the club and for that he has my respect.  Everton offered us 2.5 million  for him if I remember so his price has gone down.

Momo's best mates were Cisse and djimi and they are both gone, I hope it does not affect his game.

Fairwell old friend! Best of luck.

Well said.

For me, I'll always remember him for clearing one off the line in the European Cup final. No matter what, and how many mistakes he made, he played his part in number 5.

Good luck lad.

dodgey character whilst on the ball and doesn't make the cut at a club of liverpool's stature. I understand while alot of you are sad for him to go becus he worked hard and was at the club for a long time, however if liverpool want to win the league i feel we need to sell such players as diao , traore. We can't afford to play wages for such poor performers. Well done rafa 2 million extra to spend on a new marksman.
