what ever, your team will play in Israel,if you want and if you don't.
this is an Uefa Decision.

UEFA officials have yet to decide where the away leg will be played. I doubt that it will be Israel or Cyprus.

I know that Tel-Aviv has yet to be attacked, but we shouldn't take any risks and we should put pressure on UEFA to let us play on neutral ground as far away from Israel as possible.

No offence to any of you Isralies who have posted here.

Good draw though

The fact is mate:

I hate to sound pessimistiv but nowhere is safe anymore. Wherever you go you are taking a gamble. It could be the difference for example of being early or late to work or missing your usual train.

Price of tickets for last seasons 3rd Qualifier at Anfield were about £24 if I remember correctly. £22 in the Kop.

I can't see how UEFA will allow a match to be played in a country at war. Not even the can be THAT thick.

Correct, but we dont have missiles going in and out of the country on a daily basis.  No where is safe but Naturally others are safer

Don't worry i called Nasrallah and told him Liverpool are coming to Israel to play Maccabi Haifa! he was like awesome! so no rocket attacks  :D

seriously, Lebanon-Israel region isn't safe right now, m.haifa Tel Aviv are still in threat from hizballah, so i think its better for Liverpool and maccabi haifa to play somewhere else, for their safety and the safety of the haifa fans and liverpool fans.

Cheers

Yes point taken but there aren't showers of rockets flying into Liverpool every day now is there?

Danger could by anywhere but comparing England to Israel at the moment is daft.

In all seriousness - why are they still playing football at all over there, when it seems bleeding OBVIOUS to me that such matches would be a prime target for bombings?

If UEFA DO try to force us to play therte, it could be the biggest disaster in our history bar none.

My guess - no matter what, we will not play over there, even if it means losing our CL campaign this season.

I fully agree Lando. Even if UEFA decide to be thick and let this game played in Israel, I can't see us going. The club will take no risks.

This is a fecking warzone and no place is safe, I know from experience having lived in such a similar place. Just because Tel-Aviv hasn't been bombed yet doesn't mean that that will stay that way.

Rafael Benitez today insisted Liverpool must not be made to travel to Israel to play their Champions League qualifier against Maccabi Haifa.
The Reds' manager is appalled at the prospect of the club's staff, players and fans travelling for a game in Israel at a time when the country is involved in military action.

"It's a crazy situation and totally unacceptable to even think about us going over there at this time," Benitez told Liverpoolfc.tv.

"A few years back when I was with Valencia we were drawn to play Maccabi Haifa in a UEFA Cup tie and the match was switched to Cyprus. The situation then was nowhere near as bad as it is now.

"Valencia also had a European game in the Ukraine on the day the twin towers were attacked in America and I can remember the confusion that caused with the players on their mobile phones constantly to their families who were wondering when we'd be getting back. It's impossible to prepare for a game in these circumstances.

"There is no way we should be going to Israel to play a game of football at this time. It's crazy to even consider it. UEFA cannot put anyone at risk. The situation is very clear in my mind. I feel sad for the people over there at the moment because it's a terrible time for them, but we have to put the security and safety of everyone involved before anything else and that means we cannot travel there. It would be impossible to concentrate on the game.

"UEFA need to make a decision quickly because there will be lots of our supporters wanting to know what is happening."
