I 'm sure rafa wasn't interested in signing him seeing how "loaded" we are in the left flank.....

Have to agree ! With Kewell, Riise, Zenden and Gonzales, i would have been surprised if Rafa signed Duff.

He's not, you do know that NCFC has signed him.

Hey anyone heard the new that simao has pretty much been dropped by benfica on their recent pre-season friendlys? Us and Valencia are the faves to sign him.

I personally think this would be a great signing!

We need a right winger/r.midfield player and the first rumours seemed promising SWP,Joaquin and Pennant. Next up was Alves,Trebelsi and Queudrue wing backs/full backs who could possibly play r.midfield. Now Duff a left winger that can play on the right.
We need another striker again first rumours were promising M.Owen coming back (He fkd that one up by breaking his foot/knee)Torres,Villa,Aguirro,Kuyt, Bent then RVN,Trezeguet, Anelka etc.etc.
It seems to me that we are having to settle for way lower than our first choice transfer targets, either through lack of funds or players being overpriced, which wouldnt upset me too much. What does upset me is none of these players except maybe Anelka have come out and said that they are desperate to play for Liverpool, and made it clear to their clubs that they had better get something sorted quickly.
This is the chance to play for Liverpool for fks sake! Is it that they have no ambition, or that they know that their clubs want so much more for them than Liverpool will offer that its not worth their while. I would have thought they would be falling over themselves to sign for us. I for one dont want Liverpool to sign players because they are the only ones we can afford or even worse they are the only ones that will come! I can understand players having reservations about going to say Wigan but Liverpool no way.
Rafa deserves better than this. I understand there are financial restrictions and im not expecting Ronaldinho but most of the above players should be in our price range and if they are overpriced by their clubs, its up to them to tell their clubs that. Players should be fighting to come to Liverpool ,not Liverpool fighting to get players to come.
I am trying to be patient but im also starting to worry that we are leaving things late......maybe too late. FFS Rafa buy someone good quickly and put me out of my misery!

We're not Real Madrid or Chelsea ffs. It's not about signing 'world class' players that we've all seen on golazo or seen transfer rumours about, it's about signing the right type of players with certain qualities that will add to the team as a whole.

Who have Man United signed this summer? Answer nobody. Who have Arsenal signed? Answer, one player, Rosicky. In my opinion, both those sides have got a bigger rebuilding job to do than us so I'm quite happy we our purchases so far. We've certainly done more to strengthen than those two sides anyway.

I think your spending much too much time on RAWK StMichael. Someone has made your exact same comment on there. (Unless your fans are copying you?)

Why Panic Buy to settle your nerves?

If the player isn't desperate to play for Liverpool, we don't need him.

Alves and Anelka are the only ones who have shown interest in playing for us, but why go all out and get a player who doesn't want to play for us? This makes no sense.

Duff is a top class player and we'd be much better with him, and for £5m too.

does anybody think Crouch, Fowler, Pongolle and Bellamy will score enough goals to win the league? None of them are top class (Fowler obviously used to be)

Yea....i'd say 20..25 goals for all 4 of them !
We have a very solid defense...such a shame our forward line isnt as good .

Dont mean to sound funny mate but it seems to me that you are letting the fact that Duff is irish bias your opinion.
We need another striker imo but the likes of Bellamy Fowler and Crouch with Pongolle as back up will score goals, especially when you have Gerrard and Gonzalez on the wings.
We did not need Duff, yeah on his day he is a fantastic player but he is predominately a left winger and we already have two of those. I am happy we didnt sign him tbh and at 10 million...with his recent injuries i think he is a massive gamble.
Would you seriously rather we signed Duff than Bellamy ?
