OK. So the chief prosecutor in Italy wants four of the top clubs (Champions Juventus, AC Milan, Lazio and Fiorentina) relegated from Seria A if they are found guilty of Match fixing (which seems likely at the moment).

This will cause a massive drop in revenue for the clubs concerned, especially in the case of Fiorentina who were very recently bankrupted and they will be forced to sell off their assets - i can not think of too many players who would want to stay at their respective clubs and have to wait a minimum of possibly two years before they play Seria A level footbal again.

The question is - which player(s) would we

A. Be able to afford
B. Want at the club.

If we could pick up Luca Toni it would be a start, but i would want to see more of him. The list is endless; discuss.......

I think Cannavarro would be a great signing.

Hyppia has been a fantastic player for us but personally speaking, i think Carragher and Cannavarro would be an awesome defensive partnership.

I have been very impressed with him throughout the World Cup

Loads of possible players that we could buy but the best ones will go to the like of barcelona, real madrid, chelski etc. Would be great to snap up kaka though wouldnt it

Fiorentina just signed Mutu for 6m. So I guess they aren't that hard up actually.

Anyway if relegation is the final verdict, I think only Juve will be demoted to Serie B. The rest would be let off.

I think that most of the players will be reasonably priced and within our budget. The Italian clubs won't be in a position to ask for top dollar as they'll be wanting to cash-in pretty much straight way. Yes there will be the likes of Real Madrid, Barca, Chelsea, Mwanck Utd and so on that we'll come up against but I think we have a good chance as a lot of these players would like to the opportunity to ply their trade in the EPL. Anyway what about any of the following:

Kaka, Gattuso, Cannavaro, Johann Vogel, Andrea Pirlo, Kakha Kaladze, Jonathan Zebina, Mauro German Camoranesi, Luca Toni, Giampaolo Pazzini.

Cannavaro Definatly

Rafa should go all-out to buy cannavaro. simply the best. with him and carra at the back nothing's getting through plus it'll give time for palletta and agger to get used to prem as canna and carra are both experienced pro's. and as much as i hate to say it its time for hyypia to move on, but what a great servant he's been.

Also bear in mind that the biggest players will probabaly only go on loan for a year and return back to their respective clubs. And to be honest most of the big Italian players will probabaly want to do that anyway after just winning the World Cup they would want to stay in Italy.

Cannavaro and Hyypia would be immense.

Zambrotta and Luca Toni aswell... What a team we'd have then.

We'd be unstoppable with those players. Lets be realistic though, its not gonna happen.

Not only that but I think Capello would relish the opportunity to bring his favourate players to Madrid at a discount price.

They are going to have soem team this season by the looks of things, and with Capello at the helm they have the right man to get a galaxy of stars working well as a TEAM. If the Real Madrid directors let Capello do his job they may well win the League and/or European Cup this season.
