Liverpool Football Club - General Discussion

Postby JBG » Tue May 25, 2004 3:07 pm

I wasn't able to visit the forum yesterday due to family and work commitments (thus missing the most important day of Liverpool FC's year!) and when I returned today I was disturbed that the forum had degenerated into abuse and nonsense in places.

Jeeeez......a lot can happen in 24 hours.

Could people please desist from abusing each other where they cannot agree over an issue: is it not the best way to make someone who disagrees with you look stupid by simply offering a better arguement in return and exposing the weaknesses in their view point?

Some of the abuse posted lately has been particularly vile and it needs to end.

Also, there has been a recent trend where a particular member has been abused on a personal level becuase of that member's profession. That abuse is bang out of order and will not be tolerated.

I also implore members to have some common sense when starting new threads. There has been dozens of new threads posted in the past 24 hours over essentially the same topic and new threads can quickly become swamped in the forum in a matter of hours.

Its getting to a stage now where we will have to start deleting new threads where they essentially deal with the exact same issue as an existing thread in order to tidy the forum up a bit.

well said jbg. yesterdays events meant that there were a record number of members logged on to this forum. emotions were running high and things were said which were unacceptable. everything was fine until a certain member said something which was detestable.

anyway i think everyone has calmed down now.

On the busiest day of the year yesterday this forum was a bit chaotic. It could have been nipped in the bud if one members outburst had been deleted. There was no excuse for the comments made and I still havent seen an apology or a withdrawal.

The abusive and farcical threads must end.

Unfortunately some of the most valued members left in the past month and we don't want anymore departures.

Hold on a minute......I'm beginning to sound like a director of Leeds UTD!  :D

I'm trying to bring Owzat back into the fold, as well as Has, Big Al and Ol' Red Eyes.

Owzat can be found on other forums and I have a feeling we haven't seen the end of him and his brilliant Stats......

Big Al and Ol Red Eyes haven't left, its just that Big Al has become completely disillusioned and hardly ever posts anymore.

I ripped into the Manc last night, it needed to be done.  He's still posting about the FA Cup final and Millwall as if he's the forum joker.  That was it.  All my other posts were serious.
