Liverpool Football Club - General Discussion

yeah yer right i have no passion for the club at all ???

Now av calmed down it was a pretty horrible remark, but some of the stuff said about Houllier is just as bad and degrading.

It was intended for the people who question Houlliers passion and commitment to the cause. He nearly died for this club and that still didn't stop him giving his all!! Maybe in the end it wasn't quite good enough, we'll never know if he could have turned it round.

What i said was a bad thing to say and was well out of order but in defence it pisses me off when people like to see our club in this state and like to see our manager "fail" for personel glorification, then have the cheek to question my passion for the one thing on this earth i truely love.

Theres 4 things in this life people can get to me about, My parents, my dog and MY CLUB!!!

In the past I have usually disagreed with Stu's pro Houllier stance but listened to and respected his views.
I'm afraid that his latest comments are well out of order. In particular it is completely crass and insensitive to wish death on people given the history of our club and some of the tragic events that have occurred.
Those comments are on a par with The S**'s touching coverage of events in 1989.

Stu I was angry when I read your post but I think you've got enough slating on your "Horrible Remark"  Stu You know I have long been against Houllier staying at Liverpool, but that is no reflection on the man nor the pride he brought to us all in 2001.  I said many times and I'll say again thankyou Mr Houllier.  The sad fact is Stu that Houllier took the team as far as he possibly could.  Thats not a slight on the guy just a fact.  When your building a house you unless your very special you need all sorts of skilled tradesmen.  Houlliers layed the foundation he did so two seasons ago now we need some one to finish the job.   Houllier left with grace and dignity we should all take a leaf out of his book, I hope someday we can all celebrate what he gave to us and not dwell on what he could'nt do.  Houllier remains part of the Anfield family and rightly so.

That is just it in a nut-shell,big al,Houllier took the club as far as he could. The time is right for a new man to take the reins and endeavour to lift us to another level.
Stu,your foul mouthing of other members is a sure sign you've lost the plot as well.

I'm sure a new man,the right man, will use the talented squad we have, add a few top players and bring a new impetus to the team.Whoever it is will have the full backing of players, the board and the fans.Hopefully the board will have our financial dealings sorted sooner rather than later,so the new boss can get started in the transfer market when he arrives.

I didn't say it was fine at all.

I said it was nowhere near as bad as people said. Which it wasn't.

Also i thought Houllier was sacked partly because we didn't have a talented squad? His signings were ALL bad weren't they?

Oh how attitudes change.

A new manager has to do it his own way. That may mean the exit of Owen and even Gerrard. Hopefully whoever it is can get it right.

The new manager will have to earn the support in the same way Houllier did, he has 3 years to convince me or show the potential to get it right. I just hope in 5 years time if the same thing happens we do give this manager that extra year... i hope this club doesn't regret doing that.

This appointment has to be spot on or we will end up another spurs or villa.

that is spot on Stu, you do speak a lot of sense when you calm down and focus on football.
There are many mangers out there who IMO will be no better than GH. We need to push for the top dogs like Mourinho.

I think a new manager will guarantee the likes of Owen and Gerrard will stay.I don't think the words of Steven Gerrard about "3 big names and things had better change", fell on deaf's in the board-room.

Nobody on here said all Houlliers signings were bad.The majority of his signings,(where he spent money not freebees),have proved to be wasted money. His claim,"to have increased the value" of his players,is a bit bizzare to say the least.

If you spend over £100 million you will always pick up some bargains but over the last few years big money has been spent for very little return.

Houllier, has failed badly to obtain or achieve his goals when he had taken the manager's job over the past five years.
In fact he has lowered LFC's standards over time as a manager, he has lacked, motivatation, positive tactics, or team strategies of morden football that's compared with other top managers, a lousy buyer of players,he couldn't accommodate high caliber players in his team selection, furtermore, his team selections were shambles most of the times, and he did not prove to be top class manager that will take LFC forward, on those grounds and facts only, the fans justify Houllier's dismissal, not because we did not like him, but he was a big mouth, and he has said many things that he couldn't acomplish or back it up, which in the end it has harmed LFC afterward.

I am sorry if I offend any of Houllier's followers, by saying he ought be sacked by the end of last season, rather than now, I think the Board of Directors of LFC were to soft with him!!!!!!
