That was the biggest and most feeble dig heskey has ever given somebody and his nickname bruno is spot on.
Smith to Shankly:My thigh is a bit sore, but I think I could play.
Shankly to Fagan:Tell him,Joe.He has got no chance of playing.
Smith to Fagan:Tell him to sod off.It is not his leg,it's mine.
Shankly to Smith:Oh no son.You are wrong, son. It is not your leg.
It is Liverpool Football Club's leg.

Heskey's natural postition was standing with a blank expression on his face after slicing the ball into the eighth row of the stand

Getting back to Heskey though, as he was the last player to leave the club under the Houllier regime, you have to ask the question of who actually handled the sale?

Was it Houllier or was it the board?
If so why did they let Heskey go knowing in all honesty Houliier was going to leave the club?
Why would they let Houllier control the Heskey transfer - to throw him off the scent of his imminent dismissal?
Was Heskey that bad - was £6.25 million a steal for an England international?

My point is you wouldn't let a manager you didn't have confidence in handle a major transfer.

What do you think?

Good point. My gut feeling is the board instigated it by telling GH he needed to dump Heskey with the arrival of (and bill for) Cisse. Doubt if the board would let GH deal such a major card himself assuming they've known for a while that they were gonna fire him at the end of the season.

Given his size and the fact he was never aprolific scorer maybe Heskey would have been better off giving it a go as a centre-half.

Birmingham got a steal for £6m did they? don't con yourself into thinking that being an England international means anything, Danny Mills played in the world cup.

Plenty of ****** players get to play for England because the team is weak in a lot of positions, (and left footers on the forum could get in the squad)

Look at the player- total ******.

****** player and ****** manager gone in one week - GREAT STUFF
