The thought of Alves, Gonzales and Bellamy coming into a team already including the likes of Gerrard, Sissoko, Alonso, Carra and co REALLY excites me. I trusted Rafa to deal well in the transfer market this summer and it appears he isn't going to let me (and the other LFC fans) down.

In Rafa we trust! :D

has any one else looked at this guy's disciplinary record? this link http://home.skysports.com/player.....iership

suggests he picked up an awful lot of yellow cards last year - 10 in 35 la liga games last year and 7 in 13 uefa cup games - no either these are the type of fouls which do not get given the premiership or else he is quite feisty. To be honest though only 1 red all season but so many yellows would mean various bans fo some kind i imagine.

Credit to a rawk member who put this compilation together (maybe even one of you if you frequent both sites).

Didnt really no much about this guy apart from his reputation but on this evidence the lad is :censored: hot and will only get better.

Quote (DonnieDarko @ June 23 2006,03:10)
This is off topic and I don't think it merits its own thread but what do you guys think about Clint Dempsey? He is one of the few members of the USMT that I rate. I don't think he is good enough for pool but do you guys think he is worth a punt for a mid/lower table team?

The guy who equalised for the United States?

Great goal.. I saw THAT..

But apart from it, I've never seen him play.

I got this from google though.

"After Dempsey's contract runs out, it is possible he will move to a European league. He has trained with Dutch team Feyenoord Rotterdam and English team Everton F.C. in the past two years."

I don't know much about Clint Dempsey either. It was a crackin goal though. Hes kind of a nutter though. I know he records his own rap albums and is notorious for falling out with coaches.

the thing with compilations is that normally you can take enough clips to make most people seem a great player- however, these are all clips from one game so he does look a great all round winger- great in attack and strong in defence (note i used the word strong not great)

Let's hope things happen with this one and it doesn't go the same way as the Simao deal!!

He sure looks nippy from those clips, and he has a decent amount of control over his dribbling, showed some nice touches and passes into the box and some excellent off the ball running.

But obviously it a compilation clip of one match, but looks encouraging.

Looks good and very attack minded , those clips show some great long balls as well as him getting forward and into the oppo box !

Where will Rafa play him ? :D

Seriously though , at right back ,what does that say for the future of Finnan and Kronkamp ?
Kronkamp hasn't been given much of a go since he arrived , never nailing down his name as a regular.Finnan on the other hand has been one of our most consistent performers .

Interesting days ahead .

There’s no way Finnan is going to be dropped, and Rafa will not spend 10 Mil on a back up right back even if he was for the long term, and he doesn’t look like a Rafa style full back anyway, he is defiantly being bought for the right wing.

I know it wasnt his job in that match but in the whole 4 min+ clip of him only once did he go down the line and cross the ball.

Not saying he cant do it... but i have yet to be convinced this kid is going to be what we need on the right wing.

Dont get me wrong i think he is a good player.... but not exactly a winger, - ie taking players on and getting to the by-line to whip in a cross ala pennant. - unsure at the moment weather he can do the right job for us

there are quite a few other clips of him running through the centre, and his assist for ther goal against borough was more a long pass forward (ala beckham) rather than a cross.

thats the only thing that worries me  about him, not that he's not good enough - but can he beat a couple of defenders down the right wing and clip in a ball for bellamys head ?????

He was playing at right-back, in all fairness to the lad. How many players in that position do what you say?

I'd say he's exactly what we need, tbh. Full of energy, fast, strong, skillful, and capable of unexpected things.
