My take.....bellamy is a better forward than diouf, morientes, cisse and crouch.

On pure footballing ability, i'm happy if we get him. Can't be ar$ed about his off-the-field antics. Cantona was once considered a discard in france. Manure took a gamble on him (via leeds)...and they dominated the 90s. I am not saying bellamy will have the same impact. But he sure can improve our front-line which (lets face it) is pretty poor when compared with our defence & midfield.

I've said on a couple of other threads that I think Bellamy is a sound purchase at the price so there's no point repeating the whole post. One thing I would say is that I'm a touch surprised people think his suigning represents a gamble. In all seriousness, at 6 million pounds he could head-butt Benitez, get done for dealing Charlie at Melwood and run off with Alex Curran and we'd probably still be able to sell him on at a minimal loss. This is the benefit of buying proven Premiership players.
Truly, he represents a negligable risk IMHO.

Cant say Im totally ecstatic at the prospect of Bellamy signing for us TBH not only cause of his past but he is very injury prone, we are desprate for fire power, and I wont be happy with Crouch, Bellamy and Fowler as much as I love our Robbie I think we need one more CF I just cannot see another one being bought if Bellamy comes.

His finishing is not great and he just dosnt score enough goals to warrant a place at Liverpool. We need an out and out goalscorer, Bellamy isnt one, he's a partner for someone. Personally i dont think he has any more abilty then Pongolle.

Like Baros but more pace ?

What are you on mate. He is a far superior striker to Baros.

Would agree with you on that one mate. He is stronger, faster, has a better 1st touch and a better finisher than Baros. At £6m he represents a bargain!

Cisse for Fred seems like a fair deal!?!
As rumours are going Lyon look the most likely team to sign Cisse, so why can't a deal be drawn up to bring the young talented Brazilian Striker to Anfield...where such talent belongs!?  Any views?   :nod  :D

For the clueless ones out there who say his past indiscretions are behind him may I remand you that he is having to cut short his honeymoon to attend court in Cardiff for an alleged assault on a young lady.  I go along with what others have posted, Bellamy is trouble with a capital T and just cos he had half a good season with Rovers doesn't change that fact.  In the last 2 years he had major problems with Bobby Robson, Graeme Souness, Alan Shearer, Freddie Shepherd etc etc and why do you think Celtic never bothered signing him?  There was a reason why we didn't want anything to do with him last season, I'm sorry but he will upset team morale.  A leopard doesn't change its' spots overnight  :no

It seems a bit unkind to interpret Bellamy as a donkey.  However, he may be idolised by the Blackburn fans but his antics don't impress us much.  Might be a decent squad player and perhaps could end up training with the reserves.  :talktothehand

why is he cutting short his honeymoon, i am sure he knew he had a court date before he left so he is just returning from his honeymoon  on the date booked.

also the word is ALLEGED. how many players have been accused of thing over the last few years only for them to be false? so what the guy has an attitude, do you really think that will continue at liverpool. bellamy has always thought he is good and played at clubs where team mates could not put their medals on the table to shut him up about his quality. at anfield there are plenty of players who can do just that, put their medals on the table to shut him up (except for dudek     sorry i couldnt resist that)
