My two bobs worth re Bellemy, If Rafa feels he can do a job for us lets give the guy a chance. If like some here think he will start all the "Billy Big Boots" then lets call for his head.
But I am sure Stevie and Jamie wont take any of his B0llocks.

Yay thats it First post done

Welcome RedBilly and happy posting   :)

Where did you hear the rumour about a fee for Kuyt being agreed?? If true that's great news!

It was on the Dutch news that a deal between Liverpool and Kuyt was to be confirmed, so I don't think that it's just a rumour anymore.

Incidentally, Kuyt is starting tomorrow for Holland against the Argies.

i hope bellamy makes it clear to rafa that he is a striker..

i think it should be the other way round.  Rafa will be telling Bellamy that he could be used anywhere on the field, if needs be. If he don't like that, he won't be coming.  Simple

Not the greatest goals to games ratio, but he hasn't been playing for the greatest clubs.

Interesting to see that his name really IS Craig Bellamy though, thought it was just a nickname :D

I personally pray that the deal falls through and that Rafa'll come to his senses.

Craig Bellamy is NOT a player I'd want to see in a Liverpool jersey.
Theres been a lot of talk bout his footballing ability and how sterling his performances have been last season. A lot of people has been saying that because of this, his attitude is worth the risk.

With due respect, that's all B0LL0CK$ to me. I'm with s@int on this one.
It's not even a matter of risk for me. It's a matter of principle. I would not like our great club to be associated with someone who conducts himself in the manner that we've grown accustomed to hearing bout Bellamy.

I want #19 as much as the next guy but not at all costs. Winning is important but not everything to me. How we do it is equally important.
Strong believer in the moniker that "the end does not justify the means".

That is why I'd rather not have Horseface, Anelka, Bellamy, Defoe etc at the club.

For the record, I think Bellamy is a good player but great? ??? Not in my opinion he's not....

I think people are starting to get a little nervous bout a seeming lack of transfer activity to date and are starting to clutch at straws for any half decent player.

If he signs and proves to be a model professional and goalscoring machine, I'll be the 1st to eat humble pie but IMO....

Bellamy would be a false dawn to our striking darkness....

Just like Collymore, Heskey, Diouf, Cisse etc etc

:(

Fowler and Crouch will do me just fine for now.
I'd rather wait than go for a stop-gap measure who MAY drag us through the mud with his antics.

It's time we got some real quality.

Contrasting information depending on what angle you look at it. Personally I believe Rafa has more cash to splash then he/the club is letting on.

ConnO'var while I appreciate your post, I wasnt talking about Bellamy I was just saying that a players behaviour does have consequences for a club's rep and financially. Where Bellamys concerned my reservations are on his goal scoring not his behaviour.

I understand your point of view but at the end of the day, we've gotta trust Rafa with this one if its true.

I think a lot of Bellamy's problems stemmed from the environment he was in. I don't know the lad personally so I'm not going to make a judgement on whether he's a to$$er or not. Bellamy was at a club (Newcastle) where there was young talented players who were busy leading the good life (Dyer is just one who comes to mind) before they had really achieved anything in the game. Money came easily, and most of them got delusions of grandeur. Bobby Robson was too soft, Souness too hard (?), and Newcastle didn't have enough players from who they could learn humility and professionalism.

If Bellamy does arrive, he's got a team full of standard bearers at Liverpool FC, the likes of Gerrard, Xabi, Carra, Sami, Finnan, Hamman et al to look up to. He can't easily go round living it up, pi$$ing people off, and being obnoxious because he'd stick out like a sore thumb. Maybe the professional attributes of the guys i've mentioned will rub off and he may straighten himself out.

Personally, I'm not interested in Liverpool signing saints. I'm interested in good players coming to improve the team/squad. Providing he isn't a problem in the dressing room or training ground, if Rafa thinks he`s good enough then he's good enough to give a chance in a red shirt.

Noted St.Mike....

I'm not saying we should sign saints, but this boy has been through a number of clubs now and has had numerous incidents on his scorecard.
Everybody deserves a second chance and there are those who come good, case in point, John Terry and Johnathan Woodgate. I'd have no qualms if we were to sign them now as I think the've done well to grow up and distance themselves from youthful mistakes.....

BUT how old is Bellamy? How many more chances does he need?

He's a timebomb waiting to explode IMO.

I say again..... IF he grows up and succeeds whilst at LFC, I'd be happy to say I was wrong... but until it happens I shall remain DEEPLY sceptical.

Also disagree with the fact that he'll have Stevie and Carra around to put him in his place. He had Shearer at Newcastle and look how he treated him!

He's not got the right stuff for liverpool, footballing or otherwise.

A few years ago I remember Liverpool signed a young scottish player who got into some trouble running naked along blackpool prom and throwing girls into the sea (I think thats right) He was let off by Liverpool with a fine and a warning. Alan Hansen didnt turn out that bad did he?

No he didn't ...  :D

but he grew up didn't he. Apparently the fine woke him up. But Bellamy?
How many strikes has he had? And he's 27 isn't he?
