???

I haven't seen him causing any trouble at Blackburn.

As for Newcastle, I think a lot of that was Souness, who seems to fall out with players wherever he goes.

I do agree that he needs to sort out his behaviour off the pitch, although he does seem to have calmed down a lot lately.

According to my best mate 9who happens to be a Newcastle fanatic), the problems Bellamy had with Souness started in the Scot's first training session when he walked straight up to Craig and choke-slammed him to the floor.

I don't know what happened previous to that (in the hour or sohe was there, one would presume), but that is hardly a good footing to start from, is it?

Perhaps Bellamy over-stepped the mark, but I can't see how any reasonable person could expect him to work with a manager who does things like that.

My mate also said that in his time at Newcastle, Bellamy was the best player they had there, including Shearer - his idol. :;):

Is true. Infact the Geordies up here are still gutted that he left. At the time of the bust up between him and Souness, if they had to lose one of the two, 95% of the fans would have rather have seen Souness go.

Nobody's doubting the guy's ability. On a pure football level Shearer thought Bellamy was as good if not better than Owen when they were flying as a partnership, thats obviously before their major fallout.

Bellamy on top of his game and not causing trouble would be a great signing. Any trouble and he'll be out on his ear full stop.

Is correct.

My mate is ALWAYS whining on that Souness let him go!!!!!

His entire family are Magpies, and they're all of the same opinion:

Bellamy is highly-strung, but only because he demands his teammates to work to his standards - something the losers at Newcastle would struggle to do.

AT LFC, he'd be amongst better players, and could possibly turn into the model professional.

I'm quite excited by the prospect of us signing Bellamy.  Not only does he have pace to burn but he works hard and his finishing is often top drawer (see his two against Portsmouth last season, for instance).  He seems to have sorted out some of his attitude issues at Blackburn and I do think Souness had a lot to do with it ending so poorly at Newcastle (although he was being a bit of a pr!ck under Robson as well).

Bottom line for me: we've not got a huge transfer kitty and so will need to gamble on at least one if not two of our summer signings (especially if we're going to go the extra mile to get Alves, as Rafa seems intent on doing).  Six million is a good bit of business for a proven scorer in England and the gamble is worth the risk IMO.

Cisse £14m
Bad luck on the 1st season ... 2nd season OK, played out of position and played less games  but manage to score more than 20 goals

Heskey £11m
Good at 1st season but bad at the 2nd season because out of the position

Diouf £10m
Good at the WC 2002 but  very very bad in EPL

Collymore £8.5m
Not worth a single cent

Crouch £7m
OK in the 1st season and still can be improve to a better player

Morientes £6.3m
Cheap and score less goal

Luis Garcia £6m
OK in the 1st season but could be better player if he played "simple" football

Bellamy £6m?
Could be better or could be worst ... dont know

Baros £3.6m
Good player but he must have a partner that understand "how" he played.

Theres no doubting the guys talent but he can be a bit of a nutter. :D

On the positive side he has always wanted the big time, in fact he is desperate for it and this, if true would be his main chance if not his only chance.

If he is signed I reckon he will be brilliant but will move to Europe on a few years time

Has Bellamy ever scored any goals against top teams, or is he a small team bully (scores lots against :censored: sides but cant get goals when it matters) I have tried looking round the net but cant find anything. I personally cant remember any goals hes scored against the big four in the EPL. In my view a player that gets a lot of first goals in a match (Fowler)is much more important than a player who tends to score two or three against bad sides who are already losing. I may be wrong but thats my recollection of Bellamy.I am not talking about a bottler gut someone whos technic doesnt stand up against the big boys.

Finally found his record for last season, alot of goals against bad sides but that could be because he was playing for Blackburn.
TEAM                scored
Huddersfield         2
Birmingham          1
Charlton              1
Wigan                1
QPR                   2
Sunderland         2
Spurs                1
Villa                  1
Chelsea             2
Middlesbro         2
Portsmouth        2

only top team he scored against Chelsea who won 4-2
his EPL record PLAYED 164 SCORED 44

people need to remember that anelka didn't exaactly have a great reputation when he came to liverpool, but by the time his loan ended, the majority of fans were calling for him to be signed.

at the end of the day, if bellamy does the business on the pitch then the fans will be happy.
