ENGLAND VS TRINIDAD & TOBAGO

International Football/Football World Wide - General Discussion

Postby GOAT » Wed Jun 14, 2006 5:31 pm

Well this is the one that can put us into the knockout rounds. Should be an easy match on paper but our first match was a very poor performance and T&T are unlikely to go down without a fight. They could make it a tough match for us and the temperature over there at the moment is 34c which worries me as the England players used that as their excuse for poor performance last time and they can do it again. I hope for an easy win, my predicton 2-0

I can,t see any other result than an England victory. The referee for the next game is Japanese, lets hope he shows a bit more commen sense than dracula and let the lads take on plenty of water. Crouch hat trick ???
From Shankly to Brendan we follow our team, Rome to Istanbul we've all lived the dream. Our journey is long, our goal stays the same, to keep for our children the famous red name.

I think it'll either be a walk over, or we'll struggle infront of goal.

Either way, I think we'll dominate them.

Agreed Lando... lets hope it's not a 35 shots to 2 style performance where nothing goes in no matter what we do.  Sven shoudl be saying "Get a goal early, relax and then show us what you can do".

1-0 England with them defending courageously to hang on to the lead and defending really well throughout the 90 minutes against a superb tinidad side.

In other words they'll go 1-0 up and get told to defend the lead and hopefully conceed a late goal. :D

On paper this has to be at least a 3-0 win for the england team but that has to be without adding sven and owen hargreaves into the formula.
The weather is going to be about thirty degrees at kick off so no doubt we'll get the "too hot for the players" excuse if it's another poor performance. That doesn't cut the mustard with me looking back at saturdays game; the team was shite from the first kick of the 2nd half. If they'd played allright for about 60-70 mins and then started to let the performance drop it would be about right that the heat was having an effect. BUt after 45 mins and a 15 min break in between is just a pile of bollox for professional IMO.

Carra should be playin so that will help keep a tight defence but then again you can never tell with sven and he'll no doubt prove us all wrong and put hargreaves  :veryangry  in instead.

COME ON BOYS - LETS HAVE A PERFORMANCE :buttrock

rooney has just been passed as match fit by the doctors and medical staff.

personally i don't see the point in risking him. if we can't beat T&T without him we don't deserve to go through.

If we are 3 or 4 goals up with 20 mins to go it might be worth giving Rooney a run out, then perhaps 30 mins against Sweden so he will be ready for knockout stages. It would be ironic if Owen loses his place to Crouch when Rooney returns :)

If he's passed by medical staff & doctors as being match fit, then we should play him, he needs to get in the stride of the World Cup and needs to play some games to get into the motions. I would play him, we have a lack of fire power up front as it is, unless you fancy watching us play long balls up to Crouch to nod down to himself. And play thru balls to Crouch to run onto, becoz we all know Crouch is the world fastest sprinter.

Owen's probably not sharp and Walcott's not going to get a game becoz Sven found out on the day we played Paraguay he wasn't experienced or good enough. . What's the point in playing them two? It will be like playing with 10 men.

England very lucky there that Terry managed to clear the ball off the line.
