Well my friend you are wrong,  we have one of the best holding midfielders in the premiership, ALONSO.
Alonso is revolutionising the midfield holding role. He never gets into the box, he stays just infront of the back 4, and still plays a large role in attacking due to his great distribution.

Once again you show how little you know by saying that Sissoko is a holding midfield player, hes not even close. He roams box-to-box and breaks up play, he gets forward as much/if not more than Gerrard.  Whereas a holding player (i.e Hamann) will more often then not sit in front of the back four.

....IF... you watched Liverpool at all ....AND/OR.... you had any tactical awareness you would have spotted that these are the roles that ....BOTH.... have played for basically the whole of last season.

If Hamann has been told by Benitez that he can leave then that means that there will not be enough minutes in central midfield to go around if he stays.  If Hamann waits another season without getting many minutes here, then he will find it very hard to transfer anywhere.  If he moves he can be garunteed a starting spot at Bolten, or he can be 4th choice at Liverpool. Rafa is ruthless, but in this situation he is hardly being cruel or disrespectful to Hamann and the services that he gave our club for the last 7 years.

So be quiet and stop filling this forum with rubbish

Dario Srna looked pretty decnet last night. I didnt see much of his crossing ability but physically he looked able to hold his own against Brazil in a very impressively organised Croatia team that were unlucky not to get a draw.

He really got stuck in to Ronaldinho a few times. He would not cost more than 6 Mil and im sure Rafa has been sniffing around him for some time now.

Here are a couple of links to mull over in regarding Daniel Alves
hopefully coming to Liverpool. I think i may need the help of sabre to interpret the first link.

I quite like the guy, the couple of times i have seen him play
he was good. Maybe Sabre again can shed some light on him.And if he would fit with our style of play.

David Alves (Marca)

David Alves (Sky Sports)

I have also read (on another forum site) that David Alves has
confirmed that he would like to come to Liverpool on Sky Sports.

Are you serious Bav?  I thought Srna was awful.  As I said on another thread it's maybe harsh to judge him on a night he was up against Roberto Carlos and Ronaldinho down that flank, but defending aside, even in possession he didn't look anything special to me.  Then again, that's the first time I've watched him.

I can't see your writing but from the word Zlatan, you want us to sign him? No thanks, I'd rather sicky my dangly bits in a blender.

What the hell does that paragraph actually mean?

He's basically accusing and saying Rafa doesn't value or respect individual contributions. He also says that Rafa is like Houllier in the sense they both taking likings and dislikings to players for reasons not based on football.

In a small sentence he's basically saying Rafa is trying to force players out of the club (Ged's ones anyway) and is signing relatively unknown players and shaping them into superstars.

If he plays people cos he just likes them, what ever happened to Nando?

Everyone thought they were best mates, and they probably were. But Rafa knew he blew his chance in England and shipped him off to Valencia. Though I still do question the selling of Didi, I think it was an offer made for his interests. If Didi wants to stay as back up purely for the club he is allowed to, but look at the small price tag, it is probably because they will allow him to play elsewhere for more game time.

Where-ever he goes, Didi is a champion, and I'm not too angry at the decision by our management. I hope he stays, but I guess we are paying him back by giving him the chance to play first team football week in and week out for the next year or two.

I also thought Srna had a poor game and was one of Croatia's poorer players on the night.
I have not seen him before, but there is no way he would be good enough as a right midfielder for LFC.
I was pretty impressed with Croatia they used the ball well and but for some poor finishing they could of snatched a draw.
Kovak at the back had a great game and Babic on the left looked decent.

Now this is a prelude to talk about movement on the transfer market thgis close season--or lack of it! So far, I'm reminded of last year--lots of talk but not much action. Now, it's true that great players at reasonable prices are not exactly hanging off the trees. So why is Rafa so determined to get rid of Cisse and Hamman? Not to mention the repatriation of Morientes. One can understand the repatriation of Moro--but Cisse and Hamman? I think there's a good chance that we wouldn't have won either final over the last two years without the German. What if Sissoko gets injured or loses form?

Finally, why can Newcastle and other teams that never win anything pay money up front, while we seem to be always looking for the cheapest option available. I would believe that part of the explanation for the last question is that this is the way Rafa likes to do business. He likes young players he can mould or little known players who will do a job. He seems uneasy with proven stars like Owen, Gerrard and Hamman.

End of rant. Buy us some quality Rafa--and don't let Hamman go!

I agree, what the fu.ck is Rafa doing buying good young prospects who are hungry for success ?

We should buy more older, money hungry mercenaries !!

There's no rush to sign players.  The Premiership season starts on 19th August and our current squad can easily cope with Champions League qualifiers.  Also, the transfer window doesn't close until 31st August.  We've basically got 2.5 months to sign players.  I know it's frustrating when rumours are headlined every day, but that's just paper talk selling papers to gullible people.

However, past experience tells us that Rafa and the board are quite capable of leaving things too late and missing out.  My bet would be that they wouldn't make the same mistake twice.  Even if there are no new signings until the end of July I wouldn't worry too much.
