Liverpool Football Club - General Discussion

Postby Dundalk » Tue May 23, 2006 6:27 pm

Yeah ill watch the game Wednesday night, all of the Irish team play in England (apart from Ian Harte who got lost in Spain on his summer holidays last year), so it will be good to see how he comes.

Its like everyone will be on a scouting mission tomorrow night :D

ive seen him in three matches from la liga. he got better each time.

this will be a great test for gonzalez tomorrow night. if he passes that game with flying colours im sure he will be more than suited to our league.

just as a footnote.. does anyone else see the possibility of rafa employing the wingback system next year. without getting too carried away with speculation:

gonzalez and alves on the flanks  ???

I think that is definately in Rafa's plans. Not to use all of the time but we all know that he likes to change personnel and tactics depending on the opposition.
I think that Aurello (however its spelt  :D ) is more likely to be the left wing back though.

He's having a field day. Hit the post in the first half, was involved in Chile's goal.

I know I've said it before, but everytime I see him, or hear about him, he just gets better. If The Home Office needs someone to vouch for him, I'm there.

Saw him go past Gary Breen after giving him a 10 yard head start. I know Breen isn't the quickest but it was still very impressive. 'Speedy' indeed :)

Gonzalez played well tonight, seen him before so it really isn't a shock, the lad is a breath of fresh air for LFC and can't wait for him to get his permit

And note that, a player is not only it's quality. Team mates also count.

If Mark Gonzalez had Alonso's long passes in RS, he even would have been more dangerous. Mark Gonzalez HAS to be more dangerous with the team mates that he's going to have in Liverpool.

As for CHile, I don't understand their ranking. They have always been terribly difficult to beat.
