New gonzales bid - Lfc apply for work permit again

Liverpool Football Club - General Discussion

Postby EddieC » Wed May 24, 2006 1:15 pm

We're applying for a new work permit for speedy on june 1st.

Hopefully it should go through this time as Chile have broken into the top 70, but what do we do with him if it doesn't?

Loan him out again? Sell him? Or have him training with the squad to get used to LFC?

Your thoughts.

Well, he's in Dublin tonite - I'm popping over to Lansdowne Road in ca. 3 hours to settle in for the game. With any luck there'll be a couple of politicians at the game - I'm sure a big brown envelope dropped in their pocket would secure him an Irish passport :p  All donations from devoted LFC fans gratefully accepted into my personal bank account please !!

Apparently he's going to get the Spanish passport before december, so in worst case scenario the loan would be until December. Gonzalez's agent has expressed in that case RS would be the first choice.

But according to the player and his agent, they're optmistic about this new bit, not only because of the current FIFA position but also for his spell in Spain.

If you notice, the club are following a deliberate policy of giving Gonzalez as high a profile as they possibly can. It's all about making it difficult for the Government to knock back his work permit application - that's why the players and management are taking turns to piece talking him up in the press and on the official site etc.

Looking forward to seeing him play tonight. :nod

Hope he puts in a big performance tonight. Him v Finnan is going to be fascinating.

I can't wait to see the guy turn out for us - he looks absolute class.

Well, you say that, but that thread's about Sabre keeping us abreast of Gonzalez in action in Spanish league games.

It's also 19 pages long, and news of a new application process is a good point to start a fresh thread.

Hadn't heard that - oh well. I just hope Gonzalez embarrasses his replacement then.  :D

The work permit HAS to be approved...... No real reason for the paper pushers to turn this down again..... After all, he fullfills all requirements now that Chile is in the top 70 right? (Not to sure bout the red-tape details...)

Can't wait to see him in action for the REDs...... he looks like he's gonna be a handful for all premiership right backs......

Seen him play..... in this case, BELIEVE the hype.... this boy can play.... hope he settles in the premiership quickly....
