DRUMMERPHIL'S THREAD - DONATIONS, PRAYERS AND GOODWILL MESSAGES

Liverpool Football Club - General Discussion

Postby Reg » Wed May 24, 2006 1:18 am

Mrs Drummer and Phil, I'm new here however I am touched by this thread, obviously Phil means a lot to many people and is well loved. Through him, you are too. Phil has been sent a challenge, the balls in the air. My little son was sent a challenge and he and we, his parents had to find unknown inner strength to overcome what we would have previously believed impossible odds. My son did and we did. He came out of hospital after two years, a full 12 months of those in intensive care. It drained us but every day we share together is special, a previledge and a joy. You and Phil need to adjust and find that same inner strength. Its there, you just need to recognise it. Best wishes to you all, from a guy thousands and thousands of miles away but who knows the pubs and restaurants of West Kirby very well. Sink a cold one for me.

Stop f*cking about Phil. A joke's a joke and all that... :p

(I know it's not the most appropriate thing to say to a guy in his condition, but whenever any of my family have faced illness and adversity like this, a bit of reassuring humour has helped no end...having read his posts, I have a feeling he's not dissimilar)

And mrsdrummerphil - these are the times your emotions will be pulled and dragged all over the place. All you need to remember is that you can only be in one place at any one time, and so long as you're giving your all to the people that are in your care in that place, you can do no more. I can completely understand you feeling guilty at times, but the bottom line is that you shouldn't.

To all of Phil's lot - feel better. To Phil - get better.

All kinds of love to all of you. :)

Thanks everyone, you are my silver lining to that great big dirty cloud, you make me cry with your kind words but you also make me smile, you are my inspiration, my strength and I couldn't face this rollercoaster ride without out.

Thank you from the bottom of my heart.

True friends.

Liverpool is a family club, and all fans are included in that.  Although we might not always get on, and may often fall out, we all will support each other when times get hard.
