Nowhere, all this talk is rubbish, I would like a new manager but their isn't any solid evidence like quites for any of the board or anyone else stating Houlliers job is on the line, it's just the media again  :(

True, but they haven't come out and quashed the rumours by saying he's staing either. If it was reported in the sun, mirror or star then I would have give it the time of day but this was in a proper paper ( dail mail ) and also report on the BBc site and on BBC news. Even Sky ran the story this morning and they very rarley do they stick there necks out on rumours. But they again you never know!!

This just in from Reuters.

LONDON, May 20 (Reuters) - Liverpool manager Gerard Houllier says he is carrying on as normal in the face of increased speculation over his job at the premier league club.

British newspapers reported on Thursday that the Frenchman's six-year tenure at Liverpool would end in the next few days.

"I am carrying on my work as normal and have been holding meetings with staff preparing for next season," Houllier told the BBC.

"I have been discussing contracts and other matters, as well as when the players will report back.

"So I am carrying on my work as normal and with the same dignity as normal."

Houllier has come under fire after Liverpool failed to win any silverware this season, finishing 30 points behind league champions Arsenal and 15 behind third placed Manchester United.

Liverpool ended the season in fourth, securing a place in the Champions League final qualifying round.

The club is in negotiation with Thai Prime Minister Thaksin Shinawatra, who wants to buy a stake in Liverpool. They rejected an offer from British businessman Steve Morgan earlier this month.

Most of speculations interpret 'smoke' to 'fire'
If so many smell smokes, very possible the fire is really exist.
GH confirmed things are just "normal" -(you think he'd admit it? c'mon)
See through his denial, and you'll see he's been being too nice to such speculation. Not his typical as he's usually been agressive to every finger pointing at him. This time he only said "things are just normal" rather than "laughing them off".
Stevie's frustation (he'd been waiting for this moment to burst out) is another strong sign.
So, pretty obvious to me: GH is leaving soon! (from managing post, at least)

Personally I can't see how he can stay. If the board has not come out and publicly backed him as soon as this speculation started then he's as good as gine. Even if they tell him he will be here next season, how long/ how many bad results will it take before he is given the sack. If he is in charge at the start of next season, and judging from what I've seen of GH over the last 6 years, he will become even more negative anfd afraid to make a mistake for fear of losing hs job. Some managers would respond by attacking the title with everything he's got..... not GH's style imo. For GH its either the total undiluted support of the board or nothing
