Liverpool Football Club - General Discussion

I dont know do you?
Theirry Henry pledges his future to Arsenal for another 4 years and he's not even english.

Steven Gerrard twice has threatend to leave and could'nt do it in the end cause he loves our club so much.

Since Owen left weve been to 5 finals he said he wanted to leave to win things :glare:
Since he's left weve won 3 tropheys he's won none, and is not likely to either playing for Newcastle 50 years its been since their last trophey.

Talk about a kick in the teeth for us when he left but he's gummy now.
Since he's gone weve won the CL the Super Cup and the F.A.Cup he would have had another 3 medals.
And we look like serious premiership condenders next season and the season from now on.

We are going to win more and more tropheys cause weve got the best manager in Europe who wants perfection and wont be happy until he gets it.

Cant call him a judas cause he didnt go to a rival but as far as loyalty is concerned he has got none.
Must be feeling pretty arl @rse on us all the same and must get hit with a lot of jealous pangs IMHO.

F*CK HIM.

I've made my feelings perfectly clear since I read his book just after he left.

Admittedly, he left to go to a club that is almost guaranteed to win trophies. It didn't happen. He's now languishing at a club that won't win anything.

Well done Michael. Your astute decision making has served you well. I hope he does get hit with a lot of jealous pangs. Carra told him not to go, he didn't listen and it's his own tough luck.

It mearly proves the point that once you leave Liverpool, it's only downhill.

True look at Heskey (now at relegated Birmingham) Baros although he didnt want to leave, at Villa feckinell also nearly relegated, Kirkland relegated WBA, James @ Man City, Murphy at Spurs cant even get a game plus tons and tons more not one player thats left our great club has ever gone on to better things.

Steve Mcmanaman.... won 2 Champs.Leagues with Real Madrid but at least we got our own back when he finished up playing for ManCity reserves.

still doesnt like us to this day

I didnt know that! I know he left us in the lurch just when it seemed like we were getting a good team together.

But to get back to Ciggies topic Owen must feel like he had the winning lottery ticket, lost it and found a humbug.

Keegan left a great team Liverpool for a good team Hamburg( not for the money lol) but for the experience. Theres no way Keegan bettered himself. At least with Mcmanaman there is an argument ( of sorts).

Owen is a great player and was a fantastic servant to the club for so long; I still wish the lad well with whatever he does in his career and I hope he comes back to us.
Unfortunately he is only loyal to England and himself now. If he comes to Liverpool it is to win trophies not to be a Liverpool player. I still hope he does though :)

No way.

The lad couldn't care about LFC - by your own admission - why would anyone want him back?

Rafa done well in f*cking him off, he doesn't deserve to be even linked to this club. He doesn't care about LFC, only his own career. Why would anyone want to recruit someone like that?  ???

IMO, he's an English Anelka, all self and no heart or loyalty - just what we don't need nor want.  :nod

Where did this come from? We all know what Owen's like, but what's done is done and what's the point in dragging up ancient history. Besides which, you can't say that if he'd stayed we would have won anything, because nothing would be the same. Istanbul, Cardiff, these things probably would not have happened if Owen had stayed, and there's an infinite amount of other possibilities. Anything could have happened. Anfield could have burned down, Robert Kraft could have bought the club, we could have finished 14th in the league, but equally we could have won two trebles. The point of this is to say that in other universes, everything has happened and there's no point in talking about what someone did or what might have been.

Owen is Owen and he can do what he wants and players with loyalty are an extremely rare breed, and I don't expect it in any player, though I appreciate it when it's there (Stevie and Carra being the obvious examples). He's made his bed and if he's comfortable then good luck to him. Great player and if he comes back I'll welcome him with open arms. If he stays away, then such is life.

He's a top class striker, very professional minded person, proven goalscorer in the premiership. Also there will be less competition to sign him and it will be easy to prise him from Newcastle. He's young too. He is basically the perfect player for us right now, we will see over the Summer how he does in partnership with Crouchie too.

Totally agree.  Made me laugh when Owen publicly said he was 'disapointed' with the reception he got on his return to Anfield.  The song "where were you in Istanbul" didn't go down to well  :D

He tried to shaft us, strung us along with his contract, as far as I’m concerned he can rot at Newcastle for the rest of his career.

If he had left with in a dignified manor I wouldn’t have had these feeling, but I lost all respect for the way he tried to leave, disgrace.
