Saturday six - Fa cup final special

Liverpool Football Club - General Discussion

1. Who is West Ham's best player? Who should we look out for?

2. If things don't turn out well today, how will you feel in a week's time when you look back at the season as a whole? Would a loss today ruin the season for you?

3. How much would winning the FA cup help us in the transfer market this summer?

4. Today could be some players' last game for LFC. Who do you think may be wearing our red for the last time today?

5. If you could have one of our previous players from yesteryear playing today, who would it be and why?

6. Who will we miss more today: Garcia or Fowler?

West Ham's best player is tricky, they have at least three I'd watch out for Anton Ferdinand, Yossi Benayoun and Marlon Harewood. Ferdinand is a strong centre back who won't be easy to play against so who ever plays as our strikers can expect a tough time from Anton. Yossi maybe small but he is a deadly player as he showed last week against Spurs and has shown everyone all season, he's small and nifty and can strike a ball. Harewood, big, strong and has a good shot. Our defence will get a tough time from him. Also he seems to be a bit like Fowler & Gerrard in the sense that he gets everywhere on the pitch and is a nuisense.

A loss today would ruin the whole season for me. To go from winning one major trophy last season to winning not winning another big one this season would leave a dry taste in my mouth to say the least. You don't make progress by losing in cup finals, especially one that is as big as the F.A Cup. Every season Liverpool don't win a trophy is a disappointing season. I have come to expect a lot from this club and I have high demands, I'm not about to start lowing my aspirations as a Liverpool fan.

I think it could well help us that means two major trophies in two seasons for Liverpool. And with just a 9 point gap between us and Chelsea is a rather mouth watering statistic for any footballer. So I think another major trophy could well get us some very good player who might not of given us a second thought prior to this match. Altho if we don't have a suitable budget for the summer than we won't sign high quality players.

I think it might well be Cisse's last game for the reds today, after all he has been isolated for much of the season and I suppose Benitez is playing him a bit more regulary to up his price. I also think Zenden could be in his last game for Liverpool. I dunno if he's fit enough to play or will play but I still think with the inevtable arrival of Gonzalez his days are numbered.

John Aldridge - We need a good striker who can score goals for fun. :D

I think we will miss both Fowler and Garcia but I'd say more so Fowler than Garcia. With Alonso being fit to play, Gerrard will be pushed out onto the right, therefore our midfield is sorted. We just don't have a striker with that killer instinct around the box.

1. Reo-Coker -  Ashton if he is fit

2. This season has been brilliant. A win would be the cherry on top but if we lose it wont be that much of a disappointment

3. Not much

4. Last game for Mori and Cissy and maybe Hamann

5. As an Aussie.... Craig Johnston..  Him and Kewell running the wings... Brilliant !!!

6. Garcia... Cos if we were down in the second half who would bet against him scoring a cracker !!!!

CMON LIVERPOOLLLL !!!!

1. Harewood is a player who i think could cause us the most problems with his pace and power.

2. No way. We have made more progress than i expected under Rafa and defeat would not change anything for me.

3. Win or lose its not really going to spoil Rafa's plan for the summer.

4. This should be Cisse's last game for the club i reckon along with Hamann, Traore and Warnock. Kromkamp could be another who might be shown the door.

5. Ian Rush. The fa cup final master.

6. That could depend on whether we get chances and blow them. The game could be crying out for a Fowler finish. I'll go for Robbie.

1. Tough question. Probably Reo-Coker, Benayoun or Ashton. Anton Ferdinand isn't bad either IMO. TBH I think Reo-Coker will need to have a huge game if West Ham are going to have a chance, as will Benayoun. It's going to be tough for West Ham in midfield up against Gerrard, Xabi and Momo.
Ashton is capable of a moment of brilliance, as is Harewood - very fast and strong so could give Sami a few problems if he gets isolated.

2. Ahh, not ruin, but it would definitely take the shine off it. We've done excellently in the league this season, and have shown that we are probably Chelsea's closest contender for the title. However it would be a real dampener after beating Chelsea in the semi to be beaten by an inferior West Ham team in the final.

3. Very very little, if at all.

4. Morientes, Hamann and Warnock, if rumours that Fabio Aurelio is signing are to be believed.
I think Rafa will keep Cisse, as he’s shown h can score goals and is kind of versatile in the fact that he can play right wing or up front. Traore can play centre-half if necessary as well as left-back, so I think Rafa believes he offers more than Warnock does (he gave him a 4yr contract last season as well, so I think he’ll stay as back-up). I don’t necessarily agree with it but I think that’s what will happen.

5. We have a great defence, and we will almost certainly win the battle in midfield. The only way we won’t win is if we miss chances. Rushie up front would guarantee us goals so it has to be him.

6. Tough one. As madred said if we are wasteful In front of goal then it will defo be Robbie, but if the game is crying out for a bit of spark, we’ll miss Luis.

I hope we don’t miss Robbie as it will mean we haven’t scored goals, so I’m going to go for (and hope for) Luis.

C'MON THE MIGHTY REDS!  :bowdown
