i honestly thought that Mark would never get to play for us, That would have made the football quiz, "Which Football player signed for liverpool but never actaully  never played football for the first team"

LMao goes to show how Sh!t our Government is, they granted Asylum to 9 Highjackers to live in this country but they wont let Mark work in this country, F@cking pathetic.

Good Job Sabre !!!!

Next year just gets better and better...

And thankfully we dont need to add Gonzalez' into the quiz along side Alou Diarra who never played a game for us.

An amazing player, who is going to cause mayhem in the premiership if he arrives.

I thought he was an out and out winger but with the goals he's scored this season apparently not.
Can't wait till he arrives  :wwww

Ah, interesting.

Hey can you tell me which RAWK guy is that? is one of those so called RAWK gurus? I feel like Stu the Red today, I want to go there and tell him, he hasn't got a clue of football.

You’ll never be me Sabre.

P.S. Why isn’t Xabi Prieto in the Spain squad, do you believe he deserves to be there?

He isn't in the Spanish Squad, because this has been his first year with regular football in the first team. Until now, he appeared some games only, as we had a decent right midfielder, Karpin.

Navas too, has done an excellent season (Sevilla) but in Spain, if you get a place in the squad, it's not easy you lose it (not until the next World cup failure, that is).

My guess is that both Navas and Prieto will be in the Spanish Squad instead of Joaquin in a 2 years time. They're young.

Yes I do. Harry Redknapp didn't rate Shevchenko back in 1998 with West Ham, therefore I didn't rate him etc.

So :censored: you :censored::D

While he is looking to be a truly excellent buy i am trying to stop myself from getting too excited by his impending arrival.

He is young, quick, talented and his potential seems boundless but he has never played in the prem and quite frankly i don't want to put too much pressure on a young player adjusting to a new life in England.

What excites me the most is how important Rafa seems to consider him.

Well, that's a fair comment.

Let's go step by step. His goal for this months were

1) Recovering from a long time without playing: Achieved. Plus, he did it pretty quickly.

2) Helping Real Sociedad to avoid relegation. Achieved. Not only that, he has embarrassed the local guys because here they always say to blame foreigners that they don't feel the shirt like the locals, and it has been a Chilean who has been the best example of commitment and hard work. He hasn't only helped Real Sociedad but also rised the interest of several clubs, which is nice for Liverpool (more valueable player).

But, and that's where I find your comment has sense, St Michael, now he has to win the place in Liverpool first squad.

Kewell is a good player, and he has more experience, so Gonzalez will have to win the place in the team. We shouldn't be expecting he scores 10 goals a season in his first season in Anfield. I've said several times that high expectations are the main reasons to have an Anfield Curse with some players... plus the language issue will require some adaptation, I'm afraid. I think we'll get his best in 2 years. For now, we have the left wing perfectly covered for next year, which is nice.

Only seen him a few times while at my mate's house watching sky and I must say he has always looked an excellent prospect - he is fast, not afraid to take on players and can score some cracking goals.

He will need time to adjust to the EPL as he will be closed down faster and roughed up a little more than he is used to but at the moment i believe he has a bright future at Anfield. The language problem is the most pressing concern but no doubt Rafa will insist on him having lessons as soon as possible.

So far Rafa has made some brillant signings so i have every confidence that Mark will be a success for years to come.
REST IN PEACE PHIL!

In my neck of the woods, we don't get much coverage of the spanish league..... Only the odd game now and again and only usually when Real Madrid or Barca ar playing.....

So I really don't know much bout Mark.....
Feedback on this thread on his capabilities however has been excellent and I'm really looking forward to see how he'll do in the Prem.

GH has shaken my faith in the hype from new signings that I live in mortal fear that the next hyped up player is gonna flop on us... Hence the caution...

BTW.... understand from all here that he's best position is Left midfield/wing..... he's gonna find it hard to oust Kewell especially as Harry is finally coming good. Would be a shame if after all he hype, he doesn't get a decent shot.... Would be a greater shame if Harry had to make way..... Wonder if Rafa has any other plan to integrate both of them in the same team.
