call it sour grapes or not. but, had a fashionable (?) side suffered the same fate as our fans (no need for names here)

then all possible solutions would have been exhausted in the safeseating at the millenium on saturday of 1600 supporters.

Not strictly true. A similar thing happend for this years carling cup final and they "solved" that in the same way.

Absolute shambles though. The thing thats psses me off most is the general allocation of tickets. We have 25000 seats and so do west ham, the remaining 20,000 tickets go to guests of the f.a. Of course had we be playing the final at the new wembley there would be 20,000 more. When the f.a learnt it was at the millenium stadium again they reduced the fans allocation rather then there guests.

Feeney wrote:Cup Final Ticket - My Story

I am not going to the FA Cup Final this year. This is due in part, to the FA and also unfortunately, LFC.

In addition to my standard job, I am an 'agent' for LFC. This role basically means that I sell 'the pools' for LFC to people evey week. I can't say how much I make for the club, however, it's a decent amount over a year.

The perks of this job is that I am guaranteed 2 tickets for every home game (be it, league, CL, FA or CC) and 1 ticket for any Semi's, Finals etc. From time to time, away tickets come up also. I do not hold a season ticket and as such I have to pay full asking price for the tickets that I am guaranteed - and I take every ticket that is given. Any fan who goes will know that I am paying more than a standard Season Ticket holder.

This on a whole is a pretty decent deal as you can imagine as I am able to attend matches. However, I wil not be able to attend the Final.

The reason for this is that LFC simply haven't given me a ticket. And this isn't the first time this has happened.

All the tickets I have taken are on my Fan Card as proof that I have attended all home matches and I also attended the Semi Final. the club, however, have not given me a ticket and haven't really given me a decent reason as to why.

I am absolutely devastated that I am going to miss this game, not just for the fact that I am not going to be there, but for the fact that I put so much into the club and when it comes to sharing the reward at the end of the season, I am completely cast aside without thought.

As I mentioned earlier, this isn't the first time it has happened. It also happened for last year's Champions League Final as well. It's almost as if the club is saying "well, you took that last year, im sure you won't mind this one as well?"

I really sympathise with those that won't be able to make it to the Final as I know exactly how they will feel, watching it on telly instead of being there and sharing the moment.

I will also lay blame with the FA, whose allocation is simply paltry to say the least. I also do understand that LFC have a demand that needs to be met. I do not understand however, how they can treat people (I am not alone in this - this has also happened to other agents) that put so much into the club like this. :(

I am also an 'agent' for the club and agree with you that this has been a :censored:-up from start to finish. How-ever, to be fair to the Development Association, is it not the case that as an 'agent' the only tickets you are GUARANTEED is ONE for every home Premiership game?  COME ON RED MEN!!  3-0!!

good news at last... for some

LFC STATEMENT OVER FINAL TICKETS
Paul Eaton 11 May 2006

Liverpool FC have today released the following statement to update supporters following the theft of FA Cup final tickets last Friday.
Chief Executive Rick Parry said this morning: "We now believe the number of Cup Final tickets stolen last Friday is closer to the one thousand mark. We still can't identify a precise figure, as tickets which should have been delivered on Monday at the latest, are for some reason, still being introduced into the Royal Mail system.

"We have decided that tickets which had originally been held back for a ballot of Fan Card holders will now be used to replace those stolen and we are confident the vast majority of supporters affected will be offered replacement tickets for the Final. Our ticket office staff will be contacting those fans this morning to say their tickets will be replaced.

"Obviously, those supporters who had applied for inclusion in the ballot will be disappointed, but we feel this is the best way to deal with a very difficult situation.

"We were disappointed with our initial allocation and the bottom line now is that one thousand fewer Liverpool fans will be able to watch their team in the FA Cup final. We are very unhappy that fans who have backed the team throughout the competition have been denied the right to attend the showpiece final through absolutely no fault of their own."

it would appear to me that these tickets have names and addresses attached to them therefore the list could be reproduced and the owners allowed in. i would assume that there is a near riot due to the fa's inaction on this, especially after what they did to spurs

please let me know what is happening. i'm only getting tidbits over here

Agree with you vlady, surprised no one has muttered a word about except for the few mentions in the cup final thread.
To read more on the subject go to www.liverpool.com

Without wanting to spark an OOT debate again, but its cus most members on here do not go the game. I have discussed it in length on RAWK, but I might as well tell my missus as speak to people on here.

Honest to god it's an absolute shambles, and I just hope that every fan that paid for a ticket through official channels ends up getting the seat that is rightfully theirs.

The guy from the Millennium Stadium clearly hasn't got a f*cking clue, and I'm just glad that Parry has torn into him publicly. It's a ridiculous situation that could still be satisfactorily sorted, but from what I can make out, they care not one iota about our fans, and it just screams of a botched a*se-covering exercise.

I can see a court case brewing (class action, anyone?), and I just hope the Millennium Stadium get it right up the jacksy. It's a f*cking disgrace.

You have reminded me to mention that praise should go to the Development Assiciation who are right behind the agents in this. In a letter to all agents recently, the Manager of the DA, Wally, spoke at how he is amazed that this has happened to the agents who bring in a lot of money and how the DA is doing better than ever before, which makes the decision even more outragous. He has logged his grievance with Rick Parry and is fighting our cause.

Wouldn't it be unfortunate if some of the tickets he nicked were on their way to some of the coppers that'll be "looking after" him in the cells... :D
